jon: arthel neville in our newsroom, thanks.al winter is cutting into supplies of road salt. at least 12 states are now running dangerously low, and it's just the beginning of february. alicia acuna is live in redmond, utahs -- utah, with more. >> reporter: we're at a salt mine that has where i'm standing a 200,000-ton inventory right here in this area, and this really is the good stuff here. you see that pink tinge that it has, these are the minerals that make it possible for it to be effective at zero degrees fahrenheit when it is on the road. now, redmond supplies rock salt to 28 different states west of the mississippi, but with all of this bad weather, it's the states that are in the east that are really eating up all of that supply, and redmond is having a hard time getting it salt to where it is needed fast enough. >> right now there's a real shortage of rail cars, and the infrastructure we need to get that kind of volume back there. these customers are looking for tens of thousands of tons of product, and obviously, that

arthel neville has more on this from our new york newsroom. arthel? >> hey, jon. it has been part of casual conversation of concern amongst people who live or used to live on the west coast however cord to a report yesterday the chatter just might have some bite to it. this is the result of that tsunami and offshore earthquake that hit japan on march 16th, 2011, and knocked out the fukushima power plant. radioactive cesium could arrive in the ocean waters along the pacific coast by april. this is according to a report scientists released monday. chemical oceanographer says no federal or international agencies are monitoring ocean waters from fukushima on this side of the pacific. so he has organized volunteer monitors at 16 sites along the california and washington coasts and two in hawaii to collect and analyze the seawater. whistler reported that results from four of those monitoring sites have not detected traces of radiation from the fukushima daichi nuclear plant destruction but he added, quote, not yet. the forecast is that appointment low levels of radioact

i'm arthel neville. >> i'm gregg jarrett. glad you're with us. it's another wintry weekend for millions of americans. meteorologist janice dean live in the fox extreme weather center with the latest details. >> hi. yes. we have another winter storm. we are dealing with some wet weather and snowy weather for the northwest. another clipper system for the midwest. don't want to ignore you guys. across the northeast again, another winter storm that is going to bring blizzard conditions for new england. you can see the snow where the snow is flying. we have some significant airport delays. newark, close to four hours of delays for you. even in philadelphia where it's just lightly snowing, you've got over an hour delay there. all around the new york airports we are going to see delays, unfortunately, as this system continues. to bring light snow to new york city, providence, as well. freezing rain reported in philadelphia right now. that could add to the problems at the airports. then we'll see this storm bomb out is what we call it in meteorology. str

arthel neville live in our newsroom with more. the possible exposure happened in november when 350 people affiliated with the school were tested after coming in contact with someone who had tb. now 14 people at coronado high school have tested positive for latent tuberculosis. health officials say the group could include students, faculty or even staff. with latent tuberculosis, by the way, those who tested positive are not sick and they can not spread the disease to others. the health department says they will be offering treatment to help prevent them from developing tb later on. the southern nevada health district has completed its second round of tb testing at the school, claiming no additional active cases have been discovered, however, health officials are encouraging those with latent tuberculosis to start medical treatment. that means daily medication taken for up to nine months. this can cure a patient of the disease. health officials confirm the strain of tb at coronado high school is different than the strain found durin
