"the wall street journal" reported over the weekend the exchange has been the target of hackers for the past year. but that the part of the system that executes trades was not breached. nasdaq officials say trading should resume as normal this morning. >>> a high profile merger online. aol has agreed to buy the news website huffington post for $315 million. the merger will create a media group with combined base of 117 million visitors a month here in the u.s. and more than double that internationally. fou

i'm dan ashley. about face. california will not sell off a bunch of state owned buildings after all. governor jerry brown today stopped his predecessor's controversial budget balancing plan cold. capital correspondent nannette miranda explains why. >> reporter: governor jerry brown pulled the plug on a controversial plan to sell 24 state buildings and then lease them back for at least 20 years. the transaction started under governor schwarzenegger and included iconic offenses like the ronald reagan building in down townland the state supreme court building in san francisco. >> it didn't make much sense because it in effect is a gigantic loan with interest payments equal to over 10% every year. >> governor schwarzenegger pushed the sale last year because it could bring a one time cash inflation of $1.2 billion at a time when there seemingly were no other answers to get rid of the budget deficit. the nonpartisan legislative analysts found after 35 years the sale leaseback plan would cost california taxpayers $6 bi

as his sister, ashley, remembers. >> that was number one, is he wanted to make sure that they enjoyed kids and would get along with alex, too. not only was she nice and interacting with him and alex and basically the perfect mother, but their family was accepting alex and welcoming both of them with open arms. >> it was crucial to steven to have this family accept alex? >> exactly. >> within weeks of meeting, jennifer and steven got married in august 2006. steven's family remembers how happy everyone seemed the day of the wedding, especially steven. >> he was emphatic. just had a big, old smile, eyes shining. it was an outdoors wedding. it was really a nice wedding. >> they threw pedals on the sidewalk. jennifer was happy. she was smiling from ear to ear. they made several comments about happy they were they had a wonderful son-in-law now, they were getting married and he was going to be part of their family. >> the whole family raved about steven and alex. >> the whole family, that is, except jennifer's uncle ed. he says he didn't approve of the whirlwind romance, he didn't like that
