the medical examiner's office found signs of multiple injuries on ashley's body. her mother faces a court hearing later this morning. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. a woman was sexually assaulted while walking to a blue line station in the logan square neighborhood. the 24-year-old was walking in the 29 hundred block of west lyndale street monday morning, when a man crossed the street and asked for directions. after giving him directions to the nearby intersection, he approached her from behind and assaulted her. he ran away after she pushed him and yelled for help. police put out a community alert after she posted her story online. a veteran chicago police officer is stripped of his police powers, and reassigned to desk duty, while police investigate his conduct during a raid on a local massage parlor. surveillance video appears to show vice officer frank messina hitting the parlor's female manager in the back of the head last summer as she kneeled on the floor in handcuffs. the manager, jessica klyzek, is suing the city and ten officers fo

we have ashley pratt with young america foundation. ashley, welcome to the show.have really disturbing numbers here. 67% of students graduating with debt between 10,000 and $70,000. we know the averages is something like $30,000. what are steps you can take to get that debt under control? >> certainly, gerri, i think here what the most important thing for cents to remember, don't file for bankruptcy, whatever you do don't do that. there are ways to work with the lender to make your payment. you can have an interest-only payment where you work it out with the lender you can pay back interest. if you defer loans, and students looking to do that, 34% of them apparently are in the class of 2014, please know that interest does accrue on then. so you can actual pay back interest each month which is lower p perntage than what you are actually paying back. that is one important thing to remember. the other thing, gerri, there is income-based repayment. if you were able to work that out with your lender you could actually pay at a smaller percentage. so if you're making $3

ashley of "rock the body both" and jake policymakers. and environmental issues in general as a big wedge issue in the elections coming up? >> you know, i think that the environment is going to be a huge issue. young people care about protecting the environment right now, and rock the vote is really focused on making sure that we are out there making sure people are registered so they can have a voice on the issue, and that politicians are talking about it in what their positions are. >> jake, what have you seen in your research on this? is it something people care about? >> the two young women in the tape are millenials and they epit miz what we see. this is an issue that there's an incredible amount of controversy about where people don't know how to shake out. there's obviously environmental issues on stake and economic issues at stake, and that's another reason why politicians should be using social media to engage young people and stake out a position and tell us where we should fall in the line. >> ultimately no amount of engagement
