the sixth victim ashley donohoe was from rohnert park. as kpix 5's kiet do shows us, investigators are looking for clues in the remaining balconies on the building. >> reporter: inspectors were smart to check out the other balconies. the city says the remaining balcony a collapsed hazard. workers have attached hoist cables to remove it and the city ordered management to remove it by this evening. look closely under the balcony. see the two holes? it was cut open to get a better look at the structure. a source close to the investigation tells kpix 5 that the wooden side appeared to be compromised. so crews pen is the morning prepping the third floor balcony for removal. it's directly below the one that collapsed yesterday which has since been taken away as evidence. the exposed wooden joices according to one local structural engineer said it had dry rot. >> balcony should be able to this load. there might have been damage after construction. and from the photos, i observe some water damage. >> reporter: the balcony was built in 2007 and wa

the sixth victim ashley donohoe was from rohnert park. now, the balcony collapsed early yesterday morning at the library gardens apartment complex on kittredge street near uc-berkeley. no shortage of theories about what happened but it could be a while before officials get a cause determined. kiet do joins us from the scene now with the latest. >>> reporter: good morning. the street remains blocked off this morning guarded by berkeley police and the damaged portion that was dangling yesterday has been removed. access to the other balconies has been restricted as investigators look into whether or not dry rot was to blame. neighbors and witnesses are opening up about the jubilant atmosphere that quickly turned into a horrific chaotic scene. a group of irish students was celebrating their arrival in the u.s. for summer work and the young men and women were also celebrating a 21st birthday. 13 people were on the balcony when it suddenly gave way. >> i saw all the rubble on the ground and just irish people just crying tears. >> reporter: the
