if those of you who are interested, i wrote a piece for "the atlantic." you can google my name and the bricks and find this interesting paper. there was an ocd paper that was produced and i can't remember the gentleman's name who wrote it but it was on the future of the middle class and looking at development. but there was a fascinating, sobering chart that looked at various stages, middle-class development, and what those shares of the global middle class would be really by region, india and china were broken out, u.s. was broken out, europe, et cetera. and what you saw in that chart was over time, how very large globs of the european share of the global middle class and the american share of the middle class, whittled down to very small, tiny bits by 2050. and the middle class represented by india and china, very substantial. that in latin america and africa remained minor and relatively insignificant. and what you just said about all of those coming into the middle class represent really great opportunities. but it also says something else. is that th

across the mid-atlantic, it is still warm. you have to go to northern maine to find the last bits of winter hanging on. we have 80's all the way back to chicago. mid to upper 80's around st. louis. we will continue in this very warm air mass for another day or so before the front tries to push through here on the day friday. that will bring a chance for showers and storms. in the north still dealing with snow. it is dry under the high- pressure all across the great lakes, ohio valley and mid atlantic. isolated storms try toing to get going. you can see that on our satellite raider composite. basically clear skies. cooling off very slowly through the evening. off the coast, winds coming in off the ocean. higher up in the mountains, temperatures cool a little bit due to the elevation. in some of the valley's it is warm up like petersburg, va. dear dea in 46-54 for the low tonight. sunsets at 7:13. it will be a beast that warm again tomorrow because of the mild flow of air coming from the south and southwest pushing the warmth of

so the caq is very proud to be an underwriter of the atlantic's economy summit. the caq just brief briefly is a public policy organization based here in d.c. and our mission is to focus on enhancing competence and public trust in our capital markets through public company auditing. so i, of course, am very interested to hear not only what our last panel had to say, even though it was a bit pessimistic, but also what our next panel will say. hopefully they'll have some ideas that will give us some optimism. one of the things that we do at the caq is an annual survey of investors. and these are main street, man on the street, woman on the street, investors. and we just issued a few months ago our fifth annual survey and i was very pleased to be able to present those findings working with the atlantic on their investor confidence forum here in washington, d.c. one of the things that we found is despite the bad economy, man on the street, the thousand investors that we interviewed or surv surveyed, there was still a remarkable amount of confidence in the system. 7-10
