wave runner stopped working launching what would become a 17-hour stranding on the back bay near avalon>> i knew i had to pace myself. i didn't want to panic. >> reporter: the wave runner broke down soon after he left from his middle township home around 3:00 yesterday afternoon. 68-year-old navy veteran stayed on the craft as it drifted to are miles with no way to call for help. >> no phone, nothing in my pockets. >> it was a nightmare, total panic and unsure of what to do. >> reporter: graham's wife reported him missing when he didn't come back, prompting a massive search by the coast guard along with state and local authorities. >> at some point i could see all the searching going on, and they couldn't find me. >> reporter: he ended up stuck on a marshy island and stayed there the entire night sitting on the waverunner. >> i did doze off and suddenly jolt awake and your hand would reach for the steering wheel and, you know, save you from plunging into the water. >> reporter: this morning, the search ramg ramped up again. >> he was waving something back and forth. >> reporter: it was

closer to the shore already in the low 50s. 54 degrees in avalon.we are only going to warm into the low 60s today. yesterday we stayed in the 50s but we're still eight degrees cooler in allentown at this time. depending on where you are, you're noticing a big difference when you step outside. just a few clouds. mainly right along that i-95 corridor. more sunshine expected as we head into the rest of the afternoon. then we'll start to see our clouds increasing overnight tonight. heading into tomorrow, we'll see a chance of a few stray showers for your monday. as we push into tuesday again, another round of cloudiness, and the chance of a few passing showers heading into wednesday. thursday, we have a better chance of seeing rainfall. our highs around the area, 57 in the poconos. low 60s in doylestown. along the shore, 61 in atlantic city. if you're closer to the city, 63 degrees with plenty of sunshine today for philadelphia and 64 degrees in chester. our temperatures will head into the low 60s. by 8:00, we are beginning to drop right back down into

avalon, 71. if you're closer to dover 70 degrees.n area of low pressure that's going to stay to the north of us but a dip in the jet stream. take a look at some of these temperatures. in chicago, only 36 degrees. only 32 in north plate. and if we look at our satellite radar shot, it does show we're seeing a lot of showers and light rainfall filling in into parts of south jersey. these are spotty shower it is you're closer to the poconos, lehigh valley, not seeing rainfall. if you're in philadelphia right now you're seeing a break from the rain. as we've seen we have a line of showers here from norristown down to wilmington. that's going to continue to track to the east and north east. philadelphia, see another round of vein fall as we head into the next 20 to 30 minutes or so. you can see these are fast moving showers and rainfall that continue to move to the east and northeast. that's going to be the trend as we head into the rest of your morning. by the afternoon we'll see more clearing. there's that larger system. you can see it r

skyfox over the scene of a fire at avalon court apartments. dozens of residents are out of their homes tonight. fox 29's bruce gordon is live in voorhees. bruce? >> reporter: yeah, dawn. we're across the street from the club at main street. it's a sprawling apartment and condo complex around a number of years here in voorhees on centennial boulevard. the scene of that massive midday blaze that gutted a half dozen apartment units and led to five minor injuries among police and firefighters here. take look at these pictures and you'll realize pretty quickly this could have been much worse. this home video shows the fire burning out of control at building 3600. 20 apartment units spread over three floors each one of them burned, smoked out or flooded by water. christina, was relocated to this building just a few months ago after a summer fire started by a lightning strike damaged her building just across the way. >> what goes through your mind as you look at this? >> i don't want to live in this apartment any more. we don't know. i just want to s
