firefighters had to battle frigid temperatures, avalon, big house fire along the jersey shore we signed up that they fight more than fire, they are fighting ice. friday the 13th, first light, revealed frozen, one ice encapsulated and fire destroyed mansion next to empty spot. been spacious mansion under construction, the late thursday night fire started there, before spreading spotted by patrolman blocks away. three alarm err taking it to the ground. firefighters had to walt not just the flames, but their own water supply, in sub zero windchill. >> ice immediately all stray that came off of the host lines, froze before they hit the ground. >> on ice field fifth street, over 100 cape may county firefighters, many of them, volunteer, kept their footing and hoses flowing, long enough, to contain the fire of unknown cause by 3:00 a.m. but, cracking through the morning after ice takes even longer, this firetruck needs a torch and water, to break up a frozen stabilizer. >> show we have damage to this apparatus, get it back to the firehouse. >> this this pricy bay area of multi-million dollar
