this was said by david axelrod.ce and selection is between an economy that produces a growing middle class and that gives people a chance to get ahead. and their kids a chance to get ahead. and an economy that continues down the road we are on. so, how do you interpret what axelrod said there, john? was it any sort of a misstatement? >> no, not at all. but of course, mitt romney, just like barack obama, will take any statement made by the other side, that provides some opening of interpretation, and run with it. what david axelrod was saying, what barack obama has been arguing since he ran in 2008 is that we have an economy that's been rewarding people at the top and failing those in the middle and low ends of the spectrum. we've got to change that with different policies on education, and taxation, different ways to provide incentives for growth and for economic benefit down the income chain. he's trying to say that mitt romney stands for the politics and the economic arrangements that we have been living through f
