bakari henderson died from his injuries. majority of them, serbian nationals, were arrested. a greek court convicted six of deadly assault and gave them nominal sentences. three were convicted of simple assault and released. according to greek media, no one was convicted of murder. the prosecutors appealed, but in a retrial, a greek court rejected a tougher punishment. the only recourse now, a push to get the case in front of the country's supreme court. joining me now are bakari's parents phil and jill henderson. thank you both for joining me. just looking at the photos of your beloved son, it is heartbreaking to think of how he was treated, what led to the end of his life, and what you have been grappling with for years now trying to secure justice. i should mention for a lot of people thinking about it, well why would there be the appeal from prosecutors not similar to what we have here in terms of double jeopardy. but it's different where they are. i wonder if you can tell me, jill, a little bit about what this process h

i think bakari is right about the rules.es benefit a candidate like trump. the question is how long all these people stay? i think bakari is right, some of these folks don't really have much of a chance. but the question will be do they stay in the race long enough to fragment the field? last time around in 2016, you had people staying at way too long. so it would benefit this thing to window down sooner so that you have sort of one strong alternative. i think if you got it down to that today, look at some of the national polling that has come out, kasie it's obvious republicans that are -- >> look, i don't disagree with you at all on that. and i think we have seen some evidence in the midterm elections that would show if they were able to pick somebody other than donald trump, it is entirely possible they could win the national election, like brian kemp and other republicans. but look, scott walker back in 2016, he tried to warn everyone in september actually of 2015 that they all needed to clear out. and nobody's ego would

is it the anti-intellectualism that bakari mentioned? what do you think it is? >> yes. i'll pick d.sta. and that's really the problem we've got, right? the process was broken to get here. a year ago it made sense to have somebody with a 110% name id, best friends with trump donald trump, or cleese close enough to go vacation with him. a year later, our problems are that big in this country that no longer it makes sense to have that as a winning recipe. herschel walker is going to go down as probably the worse republican candidate in the history of politics. no way to run away from that. and i think the energy level behind his support, the best case being made right now is well, he is going to be a republican vote for us. certainly that means a lot to me. i care about republicanism. i care about conservatism. i'm passionate about it. but i also think we're able to have conversations and be able to mold and mend our legislative priorities as we move forward. but, look, this has been -- we're either going to learn from this or we're not. i think there is a chance we can't. >> thank you

to bakari's point, i would like to remind folks. we've lived in this sort of echo chamber of trumpism for so long. he has not won a presidential race for 2016. it may be time for the gop to ask ourselves, was that a fluke and should we be moving on to look at who the next candidate should be? >> it's not just herschel walker's loss for the former president. in the last three weeks since he launch his latest bid for the white house, there are the new classified documents that we learned about today, he wants to terminate the constitution in some cases, dining with anti-semites at mar-a-lago, trump organization companies though not him personally found guilty on all counts of criminal tax fraud. there's all this noise swirling around the former president. he's just down in mar-a-lago. how does this play out? >> you know, i absolutely forgot that he announced he was running for re-election. i think there's so much swirling around him that most americans forgot he's actually running for re-election. don't count donald trump out. i made
