the first balboa advisory committee meeting should be in january. they are just finalizing the details. you'll be seeing that here in the prop a request. the southwest portion of the plaza is moving toward, i believe they're at 100% designing. i believe that starts in february. this project scores well but it doesn't have that complete street corridor wide element. we'll be holding on to the project scored in the middle here and working with bart and finding some other funding strategy for this one as well. the final slide, the next four months, doing project development, public outreach, updating cost assessment and doing detail engineering. february and march coming back to give updates. april all of this building into getting revised obag application. may or june, we'll be bringing this back for board approval and final list of $35 million. at the end of june, we're forwarding list on to mtc. with that i can take any questions. >> colleagues any questions, commissioner cohen. >> i want to go on record to press concern about pa lou. the current li

right now, you take the 14 bus 2 balboa station, and it will take you 40 minutes just to get to balboa station. that is one thing i am looking at, making muni more effective. san francisco, we talk about it being a transit first city, but it does not mean a lot of options for transit are not well thought out in places further from downtown. my district is one place where we need to create better options. >> you mentioned muni and the changes that are happening. what about parking, traffic, is the area safer for pedestrians? >> there is always a lot of work to do with pedestrians. making sure the department of parking and traffic is painting along alemany. along balboa park station, geneva, san jose, pushing hard to get a ramp for pedestrians. right now, it is dangerous to cross the street, especially if you are pushing a stroller or are in a wheelchair. you have to go further than you but typically have to. there is so much more to do. we have to figure out how to calm the traffic. a lot of cars, speeding through and make it unsafe for pedestrians. sidewalks are not very convenient for

there are four streets, it's like sutro heights avenue, 46th, 47th and i believe balboa. the requester's house was built in 1937. it's the one here. and it extends because it's lower. it was one of the first houses built in this whole neighborhood and it's lowers and extends further out into what you see as like a little square. the other houses were built in 1940's, early '40's and as you can see, were all left-flush, so you end up with a little square pattern in the middle that leaves open space. one of the residents, the neighborhood has described it to me as almost a park-like feel. over here, is an alleyway. this house -- this is the back of the house. it is almost to the property line of the subject property where they seek to enlarge things. keeping that in mind i will show you a blow up of the rendering. i took it upon myself to make a small sketch, which i would like to submit at this point. :first of all, as you can see, the ramblins have a deck on the back of their house built in 1996. it has a 7' spindle wood fence to preserve privacy for themselves and their

i have been working hard to support the balboa theater and the foundation has stepped in really to help our neighborhood show strong support for it, but also at the four star theater and chinese american movie series. it's one of the only one that still continues to show chinese movies in our city and i am helping in the process to renovate the aland der theater to make sure that we restore but also maintain a small neighborhood 38 existing there. also across the city communities are stepping up to support theaters like the roxy in the inner mission and the red victorian in the haight ash bury as well and i hope the area is supportive of other efforts too and i look forward to working with the theater foundation and how the city can support more of the neighborhood 38s. they serve as an anchor to the communities and drive economic opportunities in the neighborhood and i look forward to working with you and supporting them. and in light of the big earthquake we're anticipating in the next 30 years and also to support homeowners and public safety i am introducing a resolution for federal
