so starting with you, henry barbour, what is donald trump's success, his electoral successes in the past weeks, what is it doing to or for the party? >> well, you know, i think that remains to be seen what donald trump is doing to the party. you know, we're still very early in this process. you've got to get 1237 delegates to win. we've only allocated some 728 delegates to this point. for many trum -- for mr. trump t 1237, he has a long ways to get there. it's not inevitable donald trump will be the candidate. we have 1100 delegates to be awarded in march and april, and there is no way that mr. trump is going to be able to get there at the pace that he's been going. he won 42% of the delegates yesterday, that would put him at about 750 delegates attend of april. my point is, gwen, we have a long ways to go in this process and a majority of republicans, about two-thirds, are voting for somebody other than mr. trump. >> ifill: but is this about delegate nose counting or a rejection from so many republicans of the establishment, of the way the republican party has always been structured? >>

the same people that supported governor barbour are supporting the various candidates.tly like people thought it would. not was the same a couple of years ago with the senate primary. governor bryant supported cochran at the time. a lot of elected officials supported the insurgent candidate. think we have changed any different than other parties in other states. some of the aspects are more complicated because we had groups that did not exist when hayley came into office. mark: just wondering where you weigh in on this debate. if a candidate goes to a convention with a strong plur ality, is that person entitled to the nomination? >> here is what i have been sick state saying across the -- we are not like the democrats. we do not have superdelegates that can do whatever they want to. i do not know all the rules, but i am thankful we do not have those. the notion that the nomination will be taken away from whoever gets it will not happen. at the same time, if the rules provide a certain process happens if someone does not have the majority, we ought to follow the rules. t

could you just address governor barbour and persuade him? is really hard for people who have given as much to the party to say they will walk away from it. my position cubs frey i care more about the country than the party and policy in the party. i cannot bring myself to support someone who i do not think -- i think he has yet to decry the robo calls that were made not by his campaign by an unaffiliated group supporting him, that set at the end of the day, don't vote for a cuban. i have trouble with someone who was not immediately ready to renounce the kkk. the endorsement of the leader. those are things i cannot get comfortable with. mark: what you think of that position? >> i was chairman of our party when she was elected governor. i am proud she got elected -- a day in november of 1993. she is a great governor. she does with donors are supposed to do. she got the job done. we need more people like that. john kasich has been that kind of governor. a very good governor, and he was also a great member of the congress. there are some other g
