let's ask jason goldberg, senior equity analyst at barclays. what do you think specifically is behind this wrath that we've seen lately in the banks besides what's going on with jpmorgan? are we starting to look like an attractive buy here? >> sure. bank stocks have come under pressure in the second quarter after a nice run in the first quarter where they rallied 25% more than double the s&p 500. and i think the issues have been, you know, just persistent low interest rates. you know, the 10-year treasury yield got as high as 2.4% during the first quarter and now fell below 1.8% last week. you have kind of europe people felt better during the first quarter post the ltro, now maybe not feeling as good nouz showing direct exposure banks have and implications over there. i think those have weighed on investor psychology and more recently jpmorgan trading losses. >> sure. talking of which, you're quite bullish on both jpmorgan, with a price target of $57 on overweight, even with all these problems and also quite bullish overweight $36 for citi. wha

i-shares, barclays, etf up 0.7% today. john, what are you doing with this? >> it's not really a trade that excites me that much, michelle. i think jeff is right. we could see a push down to that 160 level or so for the ten-year, but with it hovering here in the 180s, 190, does it excite me? not so much. >> okay. bank of america shares are falling today. that's despite the bank's new mortgage reduction program, maybe because of the mortgage reduction program. right, guys? we going to roll through this so i can get to diana? >> i thought you were going to throw right to her. >> now in a mass mailing, b of a is offering underwater borrowers a special deal. does bank of america really want people to ignore those letters? diana joins us live from washington. we are so cynical. we're wondering if bank of america says, they're going to offer principal reduction, but when the envelope comes, they're hoping it looks like junk mail and people are going to throw it out? >> i don't think they want you to ignore this because this is what they have to do to comply with th

barclays capital downgrading the stock today. and analyst anthony diclementie joins us now to explain why. anthony, welcome to the show. great to have you on the "halftime report." >> thanks for having me. >> the stock's obviously had a great run over the last couple months. why has it rallied so much, do you think, and why is it time now to pull the rip cord? >> it's really more short term, since the company reported earnings on thursday, the stock's up more than 30%. so we're just saying that there was a number of one-time tailwinds that hit the company's model in the first quarter. one of those was an easier year-over-year compare on airline packages. another one was tailwinds from foreign exchange, and those go away in the second quarter. the first quarter for expedia is only 10% of the full year. so when you look at kind of this stiff stiffening comp in the q-2, we think it might be time to take profits. >> you think the company's overly optimistic about the growth? i saw a note from a competitor of yours on the street today
