nbc bay area live at the scene. marianne, that's going on? >> reporter: miraculously all four of the persons inside this light plane that flipped over are okay. man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. we only had minor injuries. take a look at this. the single engine cessna is upside down on the tarmac. when they arrived, all four people inside had already managed to crawl out. firefighters say the pilot tried to land the plane and the wheels hit the dirt instead of the tarmac. >> the landing gear went off a little bit of the landing strip and caused the plane to tilt and flipped over on its side. >> fire crews made sure there was no fuel on the ground. they were closed for a short period while firefighters were out on the tarmac responding. according to records, the plane is owned by llc in san jose. even though this light plane flipped over on the side, all four passengers were able to crawl out and they were all okay tonight. reporting live in san jose, nbc bay area news. >> for the first time, a 13esh8 special group discussed co

nbc bay area bay area kick anaka has been following the story throughout the day. >> reporter: the suspect's name 28-year-old saul espinoza. police say he's a parolee and he did the exact same thing in 2012. in that incident they say he evaded police. when they caught up to him they found a loaded gun in his vehicle. fast forward today they found a loaded 9 millimeter semiautomatic handgun and two ounces of methamphetamine in espinoza's car. the force of the crash crumpled the suspect's car so badly he was pinned inside of it. one witness said he heard the noise and raced outside to investigate. he said the man looked to be in his mid 20s and he was unconscious. >> i wanted to make sure he was okay. he started getting frantic and just wanting to get out and just saying no, the cops are coming. >> reporter: this accident happened around 9:30 this morning, about a minute after san pablo police say they tried to pull the man over for a minor traffic violation. instead, he reportedly took off, heading at a high rate of speed into this richmond neighborhood. officers did not initiate a police pur

percentage of normal and, now, our temperature starting to settle back into the upper 40s all across the bay area while we do have some 30s for the north bay. the wind coming in from the north makes it feel cooler. our wind speeds coming in at about 14, 15 miles an hour sustained as we go through the day looking at more of a northerly wind and a breeze starts to calm down later on tonight. it will be a day where you have the jacket on most of the day, most likely even as we start out in oakland, it's 46 degrees. into the afternoon, we will see those temperatures slowly warming up. we're at 56 degrees at 10:00 and then a lot of sunshine with highs today topping out in the low 60s. so, a beautiful day. looking ahead to the weekend, expect a high of 71 degrees in the south bay on friday. and starting to cool off a couple of degrees heading into sunday. that's actually when we will be tracking the next rainmaker moving into the bay area. looks like it arrives on sunday, may continue into monday. so, we could be starting a trend here. let's check in now with mike to see how it looks as you head across

now, here's nbc bay area's jessica aguirre.ssica aguirre: hello, and welcome to this news special in "class action." we cover one of our most important institutions, our schools. and tonight, we begin with the issue affecting students all over the bay area, the teacher shortage. now, we have been telling you about this for the last few months, lots of classrooms, but not enough teachers, school districts struggling to fill teacher openings, and the problem is the pipeline. fewer and fewer people are actually going into teaching.

you know, we're getting back to the classic fall weather across the bay area. was chilly, kind of refreshing outside. take a look at the sky camera network right now. down to 63 in the south bay with that sun setting. peninsula at 64. east bay checking in at 61 degrees. unbelievable when you think about how hot the summer has been and then the mild start to fall. it feels so nice outside, and then back here towards the north bay, 63 degrees. mainly clear skies in effect. that will help temperatures to drop for tomorrow morning. check out the forecast as we head throughout 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00. down to 45 degrees in the south bay. east bay at 43. and then in the north bay, an average of 39 degrees. what i want to do next is take you into the microclimates in the north bay that will go down into the 30s. best chance would be napa at 35. st. helena at tlat, and petaluma, 39. these temperatures aren't too far from the average, which is 41 degrees. it's just the fact it's been so mild for so long, and it does feel unusual out there. speaking of the cold, the sierra s

cool sight to see and we're looking for some cool weather to move into the bay area heading into thanksgiving. now as we take a view from above down to the bay bridge, we can see a clear shot there, if you're over in emoriville looking across, it's kind of hard to see. the fog is patchy and more widespread as we head towards sunrise and temperatures right at 50 degrees in oakland and san carlos. let's take it hour by hour in san jose. a cool start a 49 and then dipping to 48 degrees. we see those temperatures holding steady and not rising as quickly as yesterday. won't be as warm, but still a lot of sunshine at least for the south bay and highs reaching into the low 60s. that was after yesterday. hitting the low 70s. so, it will be a much cooler with much more clouds moving in. we're getting ready for some rain. it begins tomorrow morning and could impact the morning commute. but as far as some spotty, light showers becomes more widespread by 9:00 and we also will have some bouts of some heavy rain moving in. this may come in as a couple of rounds of rain as we see the cold air starting to ro
