the bay area, any point of the bay area we could see some of that rain coming in.of it up around clearlake and we'll see off and on showers. here lately we've started to see rain developing in the san jose area, moving over toward the willow glen, saratoga, and then moving just to the west of sunnyvale toward palo alto. off and on rain. we're only seeing that, as well, in parts of the south bay. but as it is still fairly dry in the tri-valley, we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms. if you're going to be out there, being active, it feels really humid even though our temperatures are slightly cooler than normal. so a look at our hour-by-hour forecast does show more activity developing going into the afternoon. parts of the tri-valley as well as the south bay may see showers and thunderstorms popping up. then looking at the next several days in morgan hill, it's going to start to get really hot. once that moisture moves out, our temperatures will reach into the mid 90s by wednesday. we're going to see those temperatures spiking by the middle of the week. thurs

we have dense fog hanging close over san francisco and some of our bay area bridges. do be careful if you have to head out the door the next couple of minutes and seeing it linger through parts of the north bay over san rafael but typical of the bay area to warm up as we go on into the afternoon. not all of us will see this warming trend we have in store. not only for today, but for tomorrow. we're looking at 80s to 90s in the forecast and as we head on into our warmer day of the weekend which is tomorrow, enjoying last couple of summer days before kids head back to school, we might see triple-digit temperatures return in the forecast, even as we go on into next week and we will continue to monitor the chance of thunderstorms over the sierra and how close they could get to the bay area. i wanted to turn our attention quickly to what's going on in maui and lahaina. of course when the fires broke out, a very strong wind gusts, upwards to 60 to 80 miles an hour. now down to 10 miles. we'll bring you latest right here on nbc bay area. >> cinthia, thanks. take it from there
