and you can see out here across the bay area. we did get up to 103 in walnut creek, brentwood hunter and one livermore hunter at saint helena. hunter and morgan hill also at 100. but let's go ahead and compare those daytime highs to our historical record sites that have dates going back over 100 years, records going back over 100 years. and what you'll be able to see here is it was not good enough for records. we would have had to hit 113 here in livermore. thankfully that did not happen. and then also here in san francisco. the other thing of note here is we did get some fog moving into the coastline. so a little cooler than expected. only 68 for the high that record that still stands right there at 93. so through tonight for the inland valleys, we'll stay in the 80s through 10 p.m. and then we'll drop it down to some 70s here in the overnight hours. okay. the heat advisory still remains here for the north bay, east bay and south bay. it's been dropped in san francisco. we'll talk more about the temperatures in this area. high p

thom jensen, nbc, bay area news. thank you. tom. in clearlake, firefighters starting to gain the upper hand on a fast moving wildfire which has already destroyed at least 30 structures, many of them homes. the boyles fire started yesterday afternoon east of highway 53, quickly burned close to 100 acres. as of this morning, the fire was 30% contained. initially, evacuation orders were in place for more than 4000 people, and a temporary shelter opened at twin pine casino in middletown. we spoke with autumn lancaster, the lake county fire marshal, about the challenges crews are facing. we are under fire. watch as we were yesterday until wednesday for extremely low rh as well as moderate winds. yesterday it was hot, fire was established and brush, mostly manzanita and rh was extremely low in the teens at some point and winds were moderate. so same issues that were faced yesterday. firefighters are going to see today during a time we coined as the witching hour, which is in the afternoon. well, fortunately no injuries have been reported.
