bay bridge. it has been a very nice drive with no major problems getting into san francisco. also the morning drive on the san mateo bridge looks good from hayward to foster city. the drive time here is 12 minutes. drive time for the bay bridge is less than 10. as we look at the commute here on 580, we have a decent drive time from grant line road to 680, 24 and that will billion about 25 minutes. let's go back to the desk. >>> we begin with a surprising story. vandals are targeting a certain make of car in san francisco. ktvu tara moriarty is joining us from the area where three separate incidents happened over night. tara. >> reporter: we are in the power tell low district where we saw a couple of officers leave about a half hour ago. they were investigating an incident with a car similar to this one. it was the third time that vandals struck this morning. this all started around 1:00 when a witness says a group of eight people came out of the dark and together lifted a smart car flipping it over. the first car targeted was in the bernal heights neighborhood. the second happened a couple blocks away on anderson and ogden. the last occurred here around 1:30.

but as we've discovered, there are other water leaks across the city. nbc bay area's marianne favreau with the details in the midst of our drought. >> reporter: we have talked to several people in the south bay who say they have been waiting for weeks for san jose water company to come out and repair the leaks they reported in their neighborhood. this particular leak in san jose was repaired in just a couple of days. crews were out here all day fixing it. the asphalt was really spongy yesterday. now you can see that the water leak has been repaired. but right now the company is working to repair 20 leaks in the south bay, and that means lots of water down the drain in the middle of a drought. what a difference a day makes. this is what it looked like on rosewood avenue in san jose yesterday. and this is what it looks like today. san jose water company crews are repairing a water leak in this neighborhood near santana row that turned hard asphalt into spony surfaces. >> i don't want to come out and have a sinkhole in the middle of the neighborhood. >> reporter:
