nato alliance members met in belgium to discuss the isis and recent terrorist attacks.ecretary-general expressed condolences with the victims of those attacks and nato stands in solidarity with turkey. part of the discussion focused on turkey attacks with the kurdish rebels, pkk, kurdistan workers party in northern iraq. pkk says turkey has been launching airstrikes against it fighters in northern iraq and syria. the pkk and turkey have a long and violent history over fight over kurdish independence. they have had a two-year truce in effect. the concern is the violence between both sides will hinder the fight against isis and hinder regional cooperation. the pkk is working with other kurdish ground forces fighting isis in iraq and syria with help from us air strikes. by the way, those forces, have for the most part been winning in the fight against isis u.s. officials said turkey has a right to defend itself against the kurdish rebels but also urged both sides to stop fighting and, jenna, likewise, that was the same message from nato member nations today at that meeting
