tension is running high among benicia police. solana county sheriff's deputies are out here and so are benicia police because they think a gunman is on the loose, somewhere here. we're told he shot at a benicia police officer, and then tried to carjack somebody here who lives in this neighborhood. now let's take a look at the video that we took earlier today. you can see there are two bullet holes in the front windshield of a benicia police car. this all started around 6:00 p.m. tonight. we're told by authorities that a male suspect opened fire at an officer at rose drive and tyne court in benicia. we don't know the motive and we're told that power is not hurt, but authorities say the suspect fled and turned up at the complex here at benicia highlands and then tried to carjack somebody who apparently lives here and now they are looking for that gunman. there is a s.w.a.t. team out here, again as well as solano county sheriffs and other police agencies. we see them up and down cambridge, the street we're on now and they are spread

i just got off the phone with benicia police.rm they have robert folster in custody right now. police have surveillance in this area of the 800 block of humboldt here in vallejo with a tip he may frequent this area. he was spotted by an officer close to 7:00 a.m.. we don't have a lot of details about his arrest yet. let's take a look at that video we just shot. we were the only station here as they arrested the shooting suspect on the 800 block of humboldt. he is now being questioned at the benicia police department. the suspect folster is from american canyon. police say he shot at a female officer just before 7:00 p.m. yesterday. she was making a routine traffic stop when she was ran the plates and realized the suspect was in a stolen vehicle. when she tried to get him out of the car he drove off and stopped at a nearby complex and shot at the officer. she fired back, no one was hurt. here this morning in vallejo police have folster in custody. he is being questioned at the benicia police department right now. he was just trans
