. >>> new information on an icy stretch of i-78 in berks county that caused nearly a dozen crashes. most of the interstate is back open to traffic. but one eastbound lane is still closed at this hour. freezing rain triggered the chain reaction crash involving four tractor-trailers, amazingly no one was hurt. we'll have more on this icy mess coming up at 4:30. >> for a closer look at road condition this is afternoon we go to nbc 10's mitch blacher out in news force 10 in camden county. what's it like there, mitch? >> reporter: hey, denise, we're just outside of cherry hill, we're driving around some of the side streets in cherry hill. this is about as bad as it gets on these side streets, a little bit of icing, a little bit of snow on the roads but for the most part the main road completely clear, looking at about 1400 miles of road that's needing to be plowed over the past 72 hours throughout camden county. they had more than 100 trucks to do that work. this is -- we're talking about 72 hours of continuous plowing here in camden county. as of now they say they are focusing just on c

north, not reaching the ground yet, but as it gets to berks county and upper chester county, probably is starting to reach the ground and certainly, in dover, delaware, with the visibility down below a mile it's snowing pretty hard, at least down there. you can see at 6:00 that's where the heaviest snow is likely to be. chester county getting heavy snow, cape may getting heavy snow. the first part of the storm is going to be all snow, even at the shore, and as we go through the evening, it just gets more widespread and gets heavier across the entire area. you don't see any kind of rain until tomorrow morning right at the coastline. so the timeline from now until 8:00 the snow is spreading south to north, the heaviest snow generally 4:00 a.m. to noon, and then may mix a little bit toward the shore, but gusty winds continue and we've got blizzard conditions that are likely during the day tomorrow and tapers off late tomorrow night. now as far as how much is going to be falling, nbc 10 meteorologist sheena parveen has now information on that. >> yeah, totals have gone up, like glenn just

counties. here you see it just outside of berks and lancaster counties, but it is getting closer, should be near the allentown area by about 6:30 and through the philadelphia area by about 7:30. and this band of snow could be lowering visibility for a while, too, as it moves through. aside from that as we go through the rest of tonight and early tomorrow morning, we have a wind advisory. winds gusting near 50 miles an hour expected, this will start overnight tonight and that's going to bring down really cold air for tomorrow. temperatures right now in allentown 33 degrees. once that band of snow moves in i showed you, should be dropping the temperature in allentown below freezing, so some of the snow could be sticking, definitely going to stick in the poconos, where trcemperatures a 24 degrees. reading should be dropping, 36 there, but the philadelphia area and northeast philly, down to wilmington, right now still in the mid to low 40s. don't expect it to stick in new jersey and delaware if the line holds together, temperatures there still the mid 40s. here is the area we have to look forward to
