this berm you see this grass berm right here that separates runway from flushing bay over here. we believe that he was coming in runway 13 like this and at this point we now believe the plane ended up somewhere on this berm separating the runway from the water. so that's why you see the nose if you will up through this fence right there and sitting very close to flushing bay. as you mentioned, if you were to come in from this way, runway 31. this way, it's 13. that's why there was a little confusion. the emergency response crews were talking about 13 and 31 it's the same runway the question is where did the incident occur. we think on that berm right there between the runway and flushing bay. so this is as you mentioned about 130 people on board, including crew members. from port authority and fire one person transported to an area hospital and all of the rest minor injuries they are dealing with a fuel leak on the scene. that would be not unexpected of course in a crash scene with the fire personnel on the immediately foaming it down. but they have an advantage now that they ha

thankfully the berm was there.ut a 7,000 foot runway about 150 feet wide or so. there was as you may recall back in 1992 another serious incident at laguardia, about 27 people died if memory serves when a plane attempting to take off, a u.s. airways plane crashed on takeoff and also in a snowstorm, 23 years ago this month. in this case you have a plane inbound on approach and landing on runway 13 in significant weather issues whether that was an actual snowstorm or icy runway, those conditions may have contributed to what happened. the good news is no fatalities some minor injuries we're told by the port authority, fire and rescue personnel and the challenge now is going to be quite literally to get this plane off of where it is resting and then remove it from the end of the runway or from the runway where it's sitting. one particular point we should make -- i don't know if we can go back to that one. we have a picture where people are coming off the end of the wing. and it looks like the end of the wing the right
