they spent nine months in bermuda, and when they came, they brought bermuda sea shells. like this beautiful scallop. you don't find them that big in bermuda anymore. that is quite large. a queen conch shell here. another beautiful shell. they are collecting them like we would, as souvenirs of their voyage. but also if they get back to england, they can sell these two gentlemen who are collecting exotic objects from around the world. and speaking of exotic objects, this bottle here, which probably held medicinal substances, we actually found beetles. we had them analyzed. i actually have them in here. if you can see them. um, and they are strawberry root beetles. the first documented evidence of this beetle in the new world. it is not surprising. we have had other soil samples tested. we have located bed bugs. and powder post beetles. sawtooth beetles. we know there were black rats brought in with the colonists. all of these hitchhikers that the colonists were not bringing on purpose. we have the evidence of indian women in this time period being in the fort. and this is

the southeast coast it moves over bermuda called the bermuda high because it brings in the heat and humidityay and really doesn't change much and this is just the start. so we're dealing with the hot and humid weather building. it gets hotter on monday. up into the mid to low nines. when factor in the humidity it feels like the upper 90s not quiet heat advisory level but close. certainly look to see how hot we get and how much humidity comes in because you'll start to feel that oppressiveness in the air as that heat index climbs close to 100 on monday. 90s all way through the first five days of the seven day forecast. storms and then just chance of storms. this type of pattern you can't really pinpoint where we'll see that rain. but it's enough of a moisture in the air and the high moves off the coast just enough where storms could be able to pop up and develop. dumb app lot of rain all at once den then die down wednesday and thursday. by friday, better chance for showers and storms some cooler air comes in. and it starts to clear up a bit next weekend. want to watch closely how far that rai

this bermuda high out here is not going to allow it to curve out to sea. so with the track taking it toward the bahamas, what we need is for it to be weak and this may very well do it. it did it to danny. wind shear. you got too much wind high up in the atmosphere, it just rips the top of the storm apart and so it can't strengthen. as long as we see these colors around here, that will rip the storm apart, keep it from strengthening or even have it destroyed. the greater the shear, the more the storm weakens. here we are on friday and there's plenty of colors out there. there's a lot of shear. as it comes into the bahamas, if it survives into the bahamas, now the shear disappears. then you have a chance for strengthening, and then the potential threat to the u.s. for the next couple days, going to determine this if it manages to survive or not. clear and comfortable tonight, 65 for the low in philadelphia. low humidity tomorrow. cooler than today, so it will be real comfortable. and that way through the rest of the week. no doubt about that. a little more h

there's a bermuda high forming, a storm offshore. everything is moving slowly. once these storms move, they're slow to move out during the morning hours. during the afternoon mainly north and east of new york city then pulling away. so some storms to start through midday, afternoon east then that dry weather will come in on wednesday and basically plant roots here as we go through the rest of the week in to the weekend. these are remnants of danny. not worried about winds. moves over to puerto rico with beneficial rains. erica has formed, looking formidable with 45-mile-per-hour winds. it's a tropical storm. at this point looks like it's going to remain tropical storm status and take a similar track to danny. and maybe still covering this over the weekend as it approaches the bahamas but still a tropical storm. not anticipated to see that rapid strengthening we saw with danny that brought it up to a category 3. warm and muggy 7:00 in the morning. a shower or thunderstorm. tomorrow clouds will give way to more sunny breaks as the afternoon moves on. more comforta
