wjz is live with first warning weather coverage for you, marty bass and bernadette woods standing by. good afternoon bernadette. >> good afternoon, don and everybody out there. first warning weather this storm is making its way into maryland. you can see signs already moving into baltimore county. this is the leading edge and taking time for some places for it to make it to the ground but that is going to change in the next half-hour to hour. flurries possible mixed with rain showers because temperatures are above freezing. in frederick light snow. west this is falling in the form of light snow. temperatures a huge part of this storm system here because look at everyone. pretty much above freezing from haggerstown eastward. baltimore 33 but the dew point is 27. what happens when the storms to fall is that dew point is will come up. the temperature is coming down and it will stay in snow for us north and west of the city, south and east is too warm to overcompensate so a lot of this is in the form of rain. for a more details version we send it out to marty. >> thank you. good afternoon

it's hard to tell that some snow may be heading our way, but bernadette woods is live with an updatedk. >> hello andrea and everybody out. there we're going to start out with a graphic to show you what we have been dealing with today, because this factors into the storm coming our way. it's is warm, very warm outside and even with the sun setting it's still 49 degrees in baltimore and 55 in d.c. so the ground is very warm and that one is thing that the storm will have is to overcome. switching to radar, here is the storm moving our way. coming up from the southwest there are a couple of showers to the north of us, but that is a senator system. behind that cool air will come into play. what we're going to do now is switch back over and show you this graphic. there is a lot this storm is working with. and a lot is working against the storm. it's going to be dry air come down from the north and there is going to be some warm air already in place. so there is a chance we're going to see some accumulating snow out of this, but still a lot of details we have to talk about. stay with us and

meteorologist bernadette woods is live tonight with an updated look at first warning live doppler radar. more to come, bern? >> there's a little more to come. but a lot more in the way of wind. this is what is left of snow showers making their way across the state. this is the band that is weakening to the eastern shore. behind it, just off to our northwest, these are still some flurries and snow showers that will come down to the northwest. they're going to hold as they cut through northeastern parts of maryland. that's what we'll be watching over the next couple of hours. one thing we'll all feel, though, winds are really cranking. a wind advisory is in effect until 7:00 a.m. tomorrow for almost everyone. there is still a winter weather advisory in effect for baltimore and harford county until 7:00 p.m. but we're treal transferring over to that wind situation, as we said. here are numbers. these are sustained winds, generally 20 miles per hour. not quite yet. we have that band to go through. and as soon as that happens, those are also going to be picking up. look at the gusts, 41 mile

first warning weather coverage continues with meteorologist bernadette woods who is outside tracking the system right now. bern? >> we still have that snow coming down here. our roads are still wet in tv hill. and want to note that on some of the trees, it is starting to accumulate just slightly. and on some of the cars that haven't moved in a while, also seeing that white on the top level. this is what we have going on. first doppler radar. this storm is starting to break apart. it will be leaving in the next couple of hours. this is what we're dealt with. we have a winter weather advisory still in effect in the northern tier counties, still in effect until 8:00 tonight. at that poingtd, temperatures -- point, temperatures you're seeing now, all of those are going down. so where we have been above freezing, and it's just become wet on some of the roads, if those are untreated, they will probably freeze overnight. because we're going below freezing during the overnight hours. so please be careful if you're heading out late tonight, tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon, we're going ba
