kpix 5's betty yu is live in san bernardino. betty, still a lot of pieces to this puzzle coming together. >> reporter: that's right, allen. and that is because there are many crime scenes as of this morning, there were still bodies inside the building where the shooting happened. and today investigators are just starting to look into whether that male shooter had any ties to terrorist organizations. meanwhile, out here on the same street, where that shooting took place, as you can see, people are coming by to leave messages, candles and flowers, to the victims and their families. 28-year-old syed farook seemed to live a normal life. he was born in the united states and worked as a san bernardino county health inspector for five years. he and his wife 27-year-old tashfeen malik lived in his townhouse in nearby redlands where this afternoon, fbi agents searched a sedan out front for evidence. >> there were 12 pipe bomb type devices found in that -- that house or in the garage to that house. there were also hundreds of tools, many o

kpix 5's betty yu is in san bernardino with new information we just learned about 45 minutes ago. >> there were only two shooters. earlier in the day police were looking for as many as three. behind me you can see chp still has this intersection closed, now 12 hours after the shooting took place, about a block from where i'm standing right now. here's the latest information we know about those suspects. police tell us a man and a woman have been killed. they were heavily armed and they wore assault style clothing. tonight police have identified them as syed farouk, 28 years old and an american citizen, and tashfeen malik, 27 years old. it's not clear at this time where she's from. their family tells the associated press that they were married. this is a picture of syed. we now know syed worked for the county of san bernardino in the public health department. take a look at this armored truck on the front lawn of a home where police say syed lived. this is in the nearby town of redlands. officers used a heavy beam called a battering ram to knock out first the door then a window of thi

betty yu has some new details on the suspects and the investigation. she is in san bernardino tonight. betty? >> reporter: ken, as new details emerge about this suburban couple, more questions continue to grow. people are stopping by here to leave messages and flowers for the victims. meanwhile, the san bernardino county sheriff's department released these photos of the crime scene. the dark colored suv with the tires and windows blown out. bullet holes everywhere. inside that car, tactical assault gear. then, there's the massive stash of ammo and the accompanying weapons. two assault rifles and two handguns. as for the deputy's patrol car, you can see it took quite a hit with bullet holes in the hood and the windshield. all in all, police found 6700 rounds of ammunition along with a dozen pipe bombs and hundreds of tools for bomb making. the fbi combed through the couple's property today seizing computers, thumb drives, and other electronic devices that have been sent to washington dc for analysis. so, behind closed doors, this couple had an incredible

betty yu in redlands, thank you. >>> one of the major questions is whether tashfeen malik radicalized her husband. ken bastida joins us now with a closer look at her background. what did you find out? >> reporter: relatives have described them as the happy couple. never showed any signs of being, you know, um, islamic fanatics, whatever that is. this is a couple that registered at target before their six-month-old daughter was born. they were outwardly as normal as anybody. but new clues are coming out about the woman who pledged loyalty to isis. her name tashfeen malik, 29 years old, born in pakistan,grew up in saudi arabia. but she went back to pakistan for college. she met her husband online and they got engaged in 2013 in saudi arabia. she came back with farook to the u.s. on what's called a k-1 fiancee visa which requires rigorous screening. so she had to sit down with feds. there had to be conversations. this is the couple's marriage license. they were married in 2014 in riverside county. both listing their religion as muslim. she got a green card after passing a background chec
