let's get to meteorologist bill henley who told us this rain was coming. bill, we haven't seen the heaviest rain yet. >> no, to the south and east. delaware getting the heaviest rain moving offshore from inland. beach avenue getting a drenching this morning. more than an inch on the ground already. you can see that's quickly moving off the shore. and the showers moving inland. the rain has spread north and west with heavier rainfall in delaware and south jersey. the heaviest rainfall is move into northern sussex county. and clay mont in new castle county in delaware. while philadelphia is getting steady rain right now. and really much lighter north and west. the storm system will be with us throughout the day producing not only rain but gusty winds. we're already seeing wind gusts of 30-mile-per-hour along the coastline and 28-mile-per-hour wind gusts in wilmington. so a windy and wet day is where we'll see rain coming down. steady rain this morning. rain and wind at 9:00. then showers start to taper off later this morning. we'll still see wet were weather.

let's begin with meteorologist bill henley and his first alert forecast. bill, as we saw on the radar, the rain is still a ways off from us. it's dry out there now. >> it is a slow mover, yes. during the day today, we're not going to see any rain, but late this afternoon it will start to inch into parts of delaware and south jersey. for philadelphia, we're starting to see some high clouds in advance of that rain. can't really see it without the sunlight. we're still about an hour and a half away from sunrise this morning. the temperatures have cooled down, but thanks to the high cloudiness, it's not quite as cold as yesterday morning. 50 right now in trenton and wilmington. some 40s especially north and west. pottstown is down to 46 degrees. indeed, we are clear on the radar screen, but the showers pushing into southern virginia and really drenching parts of the carolina coastline, those will be here first thing tomorrow morning. we will start with rain. and the first rain drops will be here this evening. but not during the day. 55 degrees at 7:00. more clo

let's get right to meteorologist bill henley with his first alert forecast and all the details. bill? >> good morning, vai. yeah, it feels so much more comfortable this morning. the showers came through overnight. it was a cold front that came through, and that's dropped the temperatures and the humidity and cleared things out. look at that nice, clear view from center city. temperatures are about the same as yesterday at this time in center city. there are some areas running cooler. dover, millville, northeast philadelphia, the pocono mountains all cooler this morning. and the temperatures are still falling. so, we're in the 60s right now, but i expect to see more areas in the 50s. right now it's 53 in mt. pocono, lancaster is 57, while it's in the very low 60s for pottstown and millville. you'll probably see those drops into the 50s this morning. then, 60s for most of the day today, lots of sunshine and a healthy breeze. the wind will keep the lid on temperatures for much of the morning. by noontime, 67 degrees. we'll go through it hour by hour when i come back and neighborhood
