our chief meteorologist bill martin has been tracking the showers. what is to come? >> the scattered showers had winds today. we talked about that. showers are continuing right now. we are basically in the heart of the afternoon commute. it is going on down here. stop the radar. coming up here now on the bridge, this area of rain moving across the bridge, south, into san jose as well. moderate showers. the yellows represent moderate train. scattered showers today. heaviest rainfall was in the north bay, or in the mountains. here is oakland. scattered showers, those showers dying down in oakland. picking up in san jose. we have more pictures. the wind was blowing. the wind across the bridges, 25- 35 miles per hour. there was flight delays that airports because of the winds. as we look that rainfall totals. the totals were not that heavy. accumulations in the mountains had the most. the rest of us a quarter of the inch when i come back we will look that totals, a chance of more showers. see you back here. >>> the rain and speed are to blame for a single car accident. i

. >> bill martin joins us now with what he's seeing. >> that wind advisory was in effect yesterday, not in effect today. the wind direction now is coming out of a weatherly direction or southwesterly. that's a cooling direction and also adding humidity to the fire zone. yesterday the humidity was around 10, 12%. today it's at 36%. any firefighter will tell you that's not that dry and good news for them. temperature today got to 77 degrees. a very, very different situation if you're a firefighter, you're really appreciating the big change in the weather. we're also seeing a big change in our temperatures. numbers will fall off toward the weekend. >> it turns out it was oxygen tanks in an elderly woman's carry-on bag that caused an evacuation at a terminal at sfo today. just before 11:30 this morning, screeners found the tanks as the woman try today go through security. they initially thought they might be bombs and their fears were heightened when they questioned the woman and she said she didn't pack her bags and didn't know what was in there. 10 flights were delayed. >> crews removed a

beautiful day over to bill martin. you were saying, it'll be a cold one. >> yeah the winds are howling out there. those winds die down and it'll be real cold. one of the colder nights we have seen because its been mild. overnight lows will reach freezing below freezing. there is much wind that the freezing will take long tore get here. here is the wind off shore. 31-mile an hour off ocean beach in san francisco. at point reyes gusts of 29, when they back down, that is when the cold starts. here is the deal. it would be a heck of a lot colder if its want as windy out. the wind wills die down but the cooling won't have the opportunity to take hold. the winds will help us out. despite the winds, it'll be down in to the 20s. upper 20s in some of the coldest spots. in to the long range forecast, chances of sprinkle as we head late into the sunday. nothing big. last night the rain turned out big. many of you heard it after midnight and most bay area location, wind as well. that's gone now. the cold air sits on top of us and

ktvu's chief meteorologist bill martin joins us now. >> warm weather heading our way. it isn't going to feel like february tomorrow. temperatures into the 70s, possibly. that means concerns if you have allergies. you may have seen the blossoms on the trees. we go outside. the main indication i have is the buoys. winds out of the northwest at 16. that is not a wet direction. that is a dry direction. more of a spring weather pattern. these are the highs from today. tack on 10 degrees from these numbers and you will get tomorrow's highs. overnight lows on the cool side. patchy valley fog. there is wind out there. the ground is moist. the conditions are right. dew points will be in the right spot. we will see patchy fog but i am not expecting it to be widespread. forecast highs tomorrow, there is the pop up. san francisco 66. concord 68. that is tuesday. wednesday and thursday still warm. that is where the snow is, that is where the rain is. check the numbers up there, they are all above average. jet stream is too far that way. tomorrow morning, through the day, nothing. c
