it is senator bill nelson made that announcement this morning and speaking with us later this afternoon. attorney general loretta lynch asking the department of justice to do a full investigation into how the florida dmv has been selling the private driver records of more than 15 million people. in the letter he said in this new era when identity thieves are causing real damage to millions of hard working families, the fact that the state is making a profit by selling floridians personal information on the open market is simply unconscionable. the federal law makes d with a few exceptions. now this state told me it only sells to companies who meet one of those exceptions but we discovered state isn't really vetting those companies. and is giving them access to entire databases of driver records. we also discovered the state dmv actually puts leaks to some of companies on their an own website companies that sell records for a few bucks online. now nell son's request department of justice is in response to our stories. he told the doj if the state the driver privacy law, millions of flori
