san francisco police chief bill scott says this past weekend a lot of people hung out at the park and did not practice their social distancing technique. we're talking about staying away from each other by measures of six feet or greater. and the city is reminding people it's not okay to gather in large groups. san francisco plans to keep an eye out for crowds in all parks and outdoor space this is week. along the san mateo coastline hundreds were in violation of the stay-at-home order. police say between friday and sunday they contacted over 1,400 people. of those they ordered almost 300 to leave the area because they traveled more than ten miles from their homes for recreational purposes in violation of the order. eight people were given written citations. this path saturday santa cruz started closing all of its beaches between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to discourage out-of-towners from driving long distances to visit their area while at the same time allowing the locals access to the beach in the early morning and during the sunset hours. reporting live, bob redell, "to

in addition to police officers associations, we heard yesterday from bill scott of san francisco police, the interim police chief in oakland also coming out, and police chiefs around the country coming out. and as you say, it's often -- seldom to they all come out so quickly and make statements. but what was seen by everyone on video was so profoundly disturbing. and, again, a man lying defenseless on the street with an officer's knee in his neck for eight minutes, or even more than eight minutes as he repeatedly told them for as listening as he could that he could not breathe, and you could hear and see that he could not breathe. and yet the officer, even after he became still and motionless, kept his knee on his throat, and the man was unresponsive when paramedics finally arrived and was pronounced dead a short time later. he may have died right there on the street. but he was taken away and was not -- they were not able tory vooif him. and it's sickening video to watch. we've both seen it. and you can understand and appreciate the growing outrage once again at an act that seems so in
