we also know that here in san francisco the board of supervisors, the mayor's office has responded to deal with this crisis through a number of measures, including most recently the relocation assistance measure that increases the amount of relocation. the fact is, though, that we can pass all the laws that, that, that are needed, but unless people are able to avail them self-of the benefits of those laws, the laws are not going to end up helping the people that need the help. ~ themselves we asked the budget analyst to do a brief report and we ant to thank him and his staff as always for the expeditious completion of that work to look into the question of how many tenants who are facing eviction and displacement are actually being represented by counsel. i personally was shocked to see the findings, and the findings were that in 2012 there were 3,695 unlawful detainers filed in san francisco superior court and only 478 of though tenants were actually less than 13% of tenants were actually represented by legal counsel ~. the numbers are not that much better in 2013. 3,4 23 unlawful de

>>supervisor eric mar: let me just thank the advocate for community radio and public access of the board of supervisors meetings through community radio for being here and staying for the whole meeting. i wanted to say first of all there has been a long history of our board meetings broadcast on radio which is one of the most grass roots and accessible free ways to get information out to the p public about the deliberations of government. from 1973 until almost the present. kpoo and radio and other community based radio stations have really served a public interest of broadcasting government. kpoo for 41 years, about 40 years has been broadcasting not only board of supervisors but redevelopment commission meetings and many other meetings. it's been a value to me from a former programmer of kpoo years ago. but kpoo serving that need to public function. i think the public needs access and when you don't have money to pay for internet service or tv, that radio is a way to have access. i also think that kpoo or poor people's radio has done a great job to multicultural sensitive in the years.

thank you. >> good afternoon members of the board of supervisors. my name is tim worth, the director of the geneva powerhouse. thank you all. this is a big deal for the geneva car barn project. being able to move the buildings set forward at this time is a critically important step in terms of the project milestones and as nicole mentioned will allow us to position the project to move forward with the major capital campaign that we have initiated to fund this building. a tremendous amount of work has been done by the friends group and the community and parks and recreation over the last several years has set the table for this opportunity and the ability to move forward now is really critically important from a funding standpoint. i'm definitely here in support of this and urge you to move forward with it. as nicole mentioned being able to have the project shovel ready position the project to compete for significant potential federal tax credits that are available. so major leverage that will come forward hopefully for this project along with private
