bob and i would accentuate larry higbee here. they put a the system in place for the running of the modern presidency and i spend a great deal of time in the book detailing this and the importance of it and and it is still used today. so i in order it would take too long to try to to detail it here, but i believe readers are going to really get a lot out of that and particularly in comparison to what kind of i mean the the way that he solicited thinking and ideas and and so forth and one one wonders whether or not we need to be doing more of that in today's world in terms of the prison aspect. let me let me hit that in a little bit different way. i made a mistake and don segretti my wonderful friend and i suffered greatly because of the mistake that i made. but the important thing is to realize what happened to richard nixon and we detail in the back of the book. we have an appendix where we have transcripts of tapes from the oval office and my wife terry put in there. she went and found the web address and you can go on there an

and i know that bob will supplement this as well. of course, one of the most obvious is the impact that mrs. nixon has on the white house or her acquisition efforts. and if you walk through the white house today, the white house that you see is largely a testament to her. with white house curator clem conger and bob will talk a little bit more about those acquisition efforts. but this is a project that we're really proud of, of course, the white house historical association in carrying forward a legacy not just of mrs. kennedy who made these efforts very public, but also ladies throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries who realized the importance of preservation people like caroline harrison for example, lou hoover and others who really wanted to augment history of the white house. but one of my personal favorite things about mrs. nixon's work terms of the white house collection is that she inherently understood museum work doesn't end with a collection. and i think so many of us who work in the museum and archival field understan

reporting live, bob redell today in the bay. all right, bob, thank you. a fremont teaching assistant is being held on nearly $200,000 bail, accused of sexually assaulting students. police yesterday arrested 25 year old brandon duran. they say he works at california school for the deaf. according to police at least three students have now come forward claiming they were assaulted multiple times. the charges include sexual acts with a victim too intoxicated to resist. police are now encouraging other possible victims to come forward. and new this morning uc santa cruz is expected to lay off members of its staff. the school's chancellor saying that this is due to higher than expected $107 million budget deficit. it plans to reduce spending, but it is still expected to come up short. there's no word on exactly how many or which jobs will be cut. in addition, the chancellor says uc santa cruz will not fill currently open positions to try to make up for the shortfall. let's take a live look. city by the bay. san francisco on this friday morning. kerry's got tab
