bob casey joins me live now. senator casey, you're fresh off the floor there. what first of all, what's the mood like there in the upper chamber? >> i think there's some sense of relief that we've at least reached this point where the senate has done its work but now the question is before the house whether they are going to act to keep the government running or act to shut it down. but i think most americans know what's at stake here. when you shut the government down, you stunt economic growth and do real damage to the country. i hope the house will make the right decision. >> if you're a betting man, what would you bet the house would do? >> try not to bet on something like this, but this is -- i think a lot of house members in both parties understand the consequences of a shutdown. and we've had unfortunately in the not too stant path of our history, a dress rehearsal, dry run of this and it didn't go well. it was bad for the country then. we're at a point now where we have some historical context. we have the shutdown from the mid-90s and almost debt ceili
