one in metro boston. there is another batch which most of the bands of snow, the steady snow has been focused down through the cape and the islands. that is why your numbers of snow, much higher than everyone else. when you look at visibility, that helps to pinpoint where the steady snow is. anything under a mile, showing the steady snow. nashua just now dropping under ten miles. down to a mile visibility. bedford, half a mile visibility. through portions of southeast massachusetts, a third of a mile in visibility because of falling snow as well as huge, huge storm in the atmosphere exploded off the carolina coastline yesterday. this is the toings of that storm right now. in fact, it is wound up so tight hate the's actually closed itself off. we call it warm air seclusion. the warm air low cans off from the rest of the storm. it is right here. that is a sign that the storm matured. meaning it is not going to get any stronger from this point out. it is a hefty storm as it is. it is very far away for the ne

right now doppler radar showing lighter showers in and around metro boston. a burst 45 minutes to an hour or so where we had some steady rain but now it's stepped back a little bit and heavier pockets of rain back into the worcester hills. the concern out here is that the cold air, it's stubborn to leave, stuff to scour out the cold air this time of year. there may be some pockets of freezing rain happening as well at about 1,000 feet, otherwise, temps are safely above 32 degrees. about 3/4 of an inch in some locations. they have been moving upward. half that path west of new england we end up on the warm side of the storm. there's not gonna be any concern of winter precipitation overnight tonight. it will actually warm up as we work through the latter half of this evening and overnight tonight. look at the amount of severe weather that we have seen with this storm system going back to yesterday. numerous reports of tornadoes as well as mail and wind damage too. 176 reports of wind damage. so as this weather system moves up into new england i'm not anticipati

boston 22, norwood at 22. worcester at 18. if you are out and about this evening, it's just normal cold. it's a chilly night in metro boston, southern new england but it's not dangerous with wind was last night. last night we had winds gusting 30 or 40 miles per hour which drove wind chills last night down below zero. so if you are out at big air this evening the numbers upper teens to around 20 with barely a puff of air and then overnight tonight temperatures don't move all that much from this evening. 15 to 20 with cloudy skies and a bit of patchy, light snow developing very late tonight and early tomorrow morning down along the south coast as well as the cape and islands. that's out ahead of the arctic front and then when that comes through that will kind of just i'm not really expecting snowflakes in boston. maybe a few flurries tomorrow morning but that would be about it with temperatures tomorrow morning near 20 degrees. skiers you probably can get some runs in tomorrow morning and then the arctic air takes over. you can ski in the afternoon if you want skiers as well but those wind chills become legitimate as

right now in the city of boston down through metro west, 128, that's a slow go. the yellow pockets indicates the heavier rain moving through natick approaching weymouth and braintree and south of town, move dense, the 95 corridor, this two weeks up through southeast mass and catches up with you on the south shore. on and off rain this evening and we'll have that continuing overnight tonight. there's more rain down the eastern seaboard and this is the same storm that led to severe weather last night through portions of the gulf coast and it's doing it again right now through the middle atlantic states. i'm not concerned about severe weather but there will be leftover wind energy from the storm. at midnight tonight, some scattered showers around metro boston but this yellow and the berkshires, that is a line of thunderstorms that's what our computer model is advertising. so it is within the realm of possibility that we could even have a couple rumbles of thunder. with the leftover wind energy i do think winds will gust between 40 and at times near 50 miles per hour
