when it comes to dining options, brentwood city council member jovito mendoza says east brentwood already has more than its share of fast food spots. we can't just be putting fast food in an area and oversaturating it and making that the only thing that we have available. that's one of the main reasons the city council voted against plans to build a brand new popeyes chicken restaurant. the planning commission had already approved the proposal, but this week the city council took popeyes chicken off the city's menu. we sell a ton of fried chicken from antioch and oakley into brentwood, and we told them that would bring sales tax and jobs to your city. sunny guy says he's outraged. guy says he's already spent $150,000 on plans, and was gearing up to break ground on the $3 million project in a few months. he calls the city's decision irrational. maybe they don't like fried chicken. maybe she doesn't like fried chicken. maybe some of those planning commission city council members don't like fried chicken and don't want it over there. i don't see why popeyes can't be here. i would definitely

in brentwood, jodi hernandez, nbc, bay area news. a south bay vineyard owner who has been paying hefty fines for letting an employee and his family live in a trailer on his property, is now suing santa clara county. the owner of savana chanel vineyards in saratoga, says the county told him the rv trailer is a zoning violation, but he says his vineyard manager has nowhere else to go. so he allowed the family to live on the property. when the pandemic began. the county is facing is finding him $1,000 a day. today, the institute for justice filed a new civil rights lawsuit on behalf of that vineyard owner. it challenges the constitutionality of what it calls excessive fines and enforcement of rigid zoning laws. we did reach out to the county for a response, but we haven't heard back. a new self-driving shuttle is rolling out in the east bay. the contra costa transportation authority has added an autonomous minivan to its fleet. here it is. it's called presto. it is free. and now, up and running in martinez. the shuttle service features
