it starts back on march 11th, the night that brittany norwood kills jayna murray at the store.ir bodies are found the next morning march 12th. murray dead on the floor and norwood tied up and beaten and sexually assaulted seemingly. police believe the crime to be a robbery turn homicide. they begin hunting with two men with only their height to go by. that search continues for a full week until march 18th, one week to the day after the crime on that day. police arrest brittany norwood and charge her with murder saying she made up the story about the attack by the two men. the next day, jayna murray's parents lay their daughter to rest in houston. then on june 24th, the bethesda lululemon store reopens for the first time in more than three months since the murder. just over two weeks later on july 8th, norwood heads to court and pleads not guilty. the attorneys try to mount an insanity defense, but on september 13th they have to abandon that tactic after missing the deadline to file setting the stage for this trial. it begins october 24th, just nine days ago with jury selection.

prosecutors played a two-hour videotaped police interview of brittany norwood conducted today's -- two days before her arrest. i'm one point, she says, "i tried to get to her i stepped in blood. then i saw a lot of blood. the night he arrested brittany norwood. today he testified what changed his opinion that he was not a victim but the killer of lululemon co-worker jayna murray. he asked norwood for more details about the two men that she said attacked them. on march 18th, norwood returned to police headquarters and was again recorded. this time saying that she remembered more information. norwood said they made me move her car. they seemed to know where it was parked. i don't remember the exact lot, but i parked it on on wisconsin avenue. i saw a cop, but i was too scared to flag him down. detective drewry asked norwood why didn't you keep going, why did you go back to the store? norwood replied crying and sobbing, i was scared for my-. that's all i can tell you. they said they knew where i lived. what else have you been holding back, asked the detective? nothing, she replied. that day, she was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. the final witness of the day was jayna murray's mother, phyllis, who said jayna was very athletic. s
