we begin with first alert meteorologist brittney shipp. >> it's unfortunate timing with the dense fog and also the heavy rain expected throughout all of today. then we'll see wind speeds picked up heading into christmas day. that picture tells it all. take a look at the low-hanging clouds, the foggy conditions for us today leading to airport delays. here's what the rainfall looks like. it's continues to move up from the south. so, we're seeing moderate rainfall near norristown, chester heights, stretching down into parts of wilmington, middletown, millville, morris river all with the moderate rainfall. and it's widespread and it's going to continue to make its way up from the south and also moving in from the west. so, heavy rain expected throughout today. it's more of a light rain right now, but pockets of heavy rain expected throughout the afternoon heading into the evening. we'll see a few lulls throughout the day, but for the most part, expect rain to continue. also, dense fog, down to 1/4 miles from mt. pocono, down to 2 miles in reading, 4 in philadelphia, and less than a mile i

good morning. >> hi, brittney, good morning. drivers in new jersey are not waking up to the fog that we're seeing in other parts of our region. that's the good news. but for drivers headed to the new jersey turnpike and traveling southbound, there is an accident that is taking out the right lane. and as you can see, speeds approaching that accident, which is right past exit 2, are slowing down to around 30 miles an hour. so, be aware of that. along i-78 up in allentown, a live look right at route 22, where we are seeing foggy conditions and some wet roadways from some of the overnight rain that moved in. a live look at 422 right near trooper road, where you can see things are really great along 422. drive times between oaks and 202, seven minutes in both directions on 422. we are following along the main line for drivers who take montgomery avenue. it is blocked off to all traffic because of fire activity. so, between old gulph road and brookhurst avenue, that is closed to traffic. you can take lancaster avenue around that. trac

we begin with meteorologist brittney shipp. what's the forecast? >> as we head into today, it's more of the same. we will see the dense fog and as we head into the rest of the afternoon, we will start to see more showers moving in. heavy at times. we're down to a half a mile visibility, down to three miles in allentown, two 1/2 in philadelphia. if we take a closer look at where the rainfall is, the heaviest rain is in dover, stretching out to parts of the shore here, south of atlantic city, along the i-95 corridor. the heaviest rainfall to the south of the i-95 corridor, moving into allentown, also into norristown and cherry hill. all see the moderate rainfall. this will keep coming up from the south. then we will see the next batch moving in into our overnight hours. where he n we are not done with the rainfall until the morning hours on christmas day. hour by hour, break down more and more rainfall expected. light at times but then at 2:00 a.m., another round of heavier rainfall moving through our area. won't be until 6:00 that we start to see mo
