"outfront" tonight, we want to start with breaking news. the navy seal who died today in arizona during a parachute training exercise was a member of the elite seal team six. this, of course, the very same unit that killed osama bin laden in pakistan back in may of 2011. we should tell you a second seal was injured in that same accident. he remains in stable condition tonight. want to take you straight to the pentagon to our correspondent there chris lawrence. chris, what can you tell us about what they were doing about the seal and the accident? >> a navy official told me that the seal was killed in a free fall parachute accident. so unlike some of the films or movies that you've seen where the military people are hooked up to a line inside the plane, this type of training involves them actually jumping out of the plane, falling for some time and then pulling the rip cord to release the canopy. that is the type of training they were doing. it's something that all seals are proficient

we sat down with jeffrey brooke, jr., of missouri; tom mcdonald from massachusetts; and gregory gerhardt of texas. tom, why did you decide to become a priest? >> personally, i was very much reluctant to follow the call because of celibacy, and i ran from the call pretty hard and tried to date my way out of the priesthood. but the "hound of heaven" caught up with me. >> greg, tell me, why did you join? >> at 14 years old, i came home telling my family, telling my pastor, i'm going to be a priest. and there was, hold on, slow down, slow down, you have four more years of high school left. >> what would you like to see in the next pope, who will lead the church through your early careers? >> one who will continue to work to not only just to defend the message but to give the message in a way that it opens and stirs up the heart of the believer. >> you want to see somebody who can light up a room? >> yeah, absolutely.

. >> new tonight of wrongdoing: desley brooks and larry reid. the audit claims there were 14 instances in which councilmembers or their aids violated the city's charter. among the findings: both are accused of directing staff members to use a specific contractor for the oakland army base demolition project. that contract.worth about 2 million dollars. the audit also alleges that one of reid's aids directed parking officials to fix two of the aid's personal parking tickets. as for brooks: the audit says she interfered in the management and renovation of two oakland recreation centers. including.selecting contractors, negotiating contracts, directing staff to process contracts, setting project deadlines and hiring staff. she's also accused of theratening to remove a city employee from a project. the report indicates there's a general culture of interference within the city. the auditor says more than 40 employees were interviewed, and thousands of councilmenbers and aid's emails and phone calls were reviewed for this audit. as for potential conseq
