by the end of the decade, under sequestration, we'll be spending 2.3 brs of gdp on the military. the historical average is 3.5%. does it make sense to you to have the smallest army since 1940 and the smallest navy since 1915 by the end of this decade? does that make any sense at all given the threats we face? so how do you fix sequestration? kelly ott lindsey graham, roger wicker, three democrats and three republicans are trying to find a way to buy back the $540 billion left on sequestration to avoid destroying the student loan program and gutting the military. this is something in my view can't wait until the next presidential election. you've got to get republicans and democrats substituting the cuts. you need to close some loopholes in the tax code that benefit the few at the expense of the many and take that money to buy back sequestration. you need to adjust entitlements in some fashion to get most of the money. to those who make over $200,000 a year and get a subsidy for medicaid part d, i would rather take that money and buy back sequestration because you can afford it an
