. >> reporter: here at bryant park, people described seeing them marching through the winter village. soon they were chased by police. >> reporter: demonstrators with the group black lives matter chanted the name of a 28-year-old woman who committed suicide in a texas jail after a heated encounter with a trooper. several people detained including one person who could be seen tack aled by officers outside of the fourth precinct in lower manhattan. up town, demonstrators mingled with shoppers as they marched inside macy's at herald square. it began around 7:00 tonight inside of grand central as part who have what they are calling people's monday. the protests come as tensions between police and the black community remain high across the country. people we talked to say while they sympathize with the movement they didn't think the places like winter village were the right backdrop for the demonstrations. >> bryant park is a private park. bringing a lot of people come here, like tourists they don't know what is going on. it is like people don't understand they want to do it i understand t
