for that we head to the control room and louis burgdorf. >> nice to have you, you have a lot of energys morning. senate minority leader reid called on alan grayson to drop out of his senate race in florida. and yesterday while reid was at a congressional progressive caucus meeting, grayson repeatedly asked reid if the senator knew his name. say my name, grayson insisted. more than once. he took out a printed news article with a quote from reid. grayson asked why he gave the quote, and harry reid said it's true, i want you to lose. a reid staffer in the room reported brought in the security detail but the meeting eventually moved on. a spokesperson for reid released a statement accusing grayson of quote, running a cayman island hedge fund from his office and senator reid expressed his low opinion of congressman grayson to his face. now grayson released his own statement saying in part, calling out the establishment is never easy and it's not always polite. senator reid ought to learn that, i want you to lose is no excuse for a gross smear but the air is cleared. some fire works there. >

we go to louis burgdorf for that. >> now the senate gop has launched an inquiry into facebook over claims. it comes after the gizmodo article in which a former worker claimed that the social network suppressed conservative news articles from the trending topics. john thune has write up a letter to mark zuckerberg demanding that the company explain how trending articles are chosen. >> if these allegations that have been made by these former facebook employees are accurate, it completely contradicts everything that facebook says that they're about when it comes to their trending topics. they have 167 million users who rely on facebook. i assume for news and information. and if the news that's coming through there which is represented to be objective and based upon some algorithm and it's not, then the people have a right to know that. >>> harry reid hit back, writing that the republican senate refuses to hold hearings on judge garland, refuses to fund the request for zika aid and takes the most days off of any senate since 1956, but thinks facebook hearings are a matter of urgent interest.
