bob redell joins us live in burlingame with why the city may shut it down. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. the county and board of supervisors here in san mateo will decide today whether or not to shut down the burlingame long term facility. this is county run. if the board does say yes as many as 200 people will lose their jobs, and 230 parents who live here will have to be transferred, a move that could be very traumatic for them according to one group. an independent consultant and the civil grand jury have recommended the facility be shut down because the building is outdated and doesn't meet today's standards for medical care or earthquake safety. the union fighting the jobs of its nurses argues that the building is in decent shape and besides they say where do you move all of the residents? a spokesperson tells a news service the county doesn't have the space elsewhere. a group fighting for the parents' rights say that the move would be very hard on the residents, especially those with dementia. the county says that if it does go ahead
