burlington county, ocean county parts of mercer county are seeing the heavy snow from the nor'easter pile in. we're seeing it come in past philadelphia into part of the western suburbs including berks and chester county but this leading edge for the most part is fairly light snow. the same thing goes for parts of south jersey and we're not expecting as big of an impact in snow over the next several hours as was originally appearing. the wider view though if you have plans to move up toward new york or boston today it's going to be very bad conditions especially in boston and connecticut with blizzard whiteout conditions up there and new york still in a blizzard warning as well as long island. so, things are worse just a little bit up the coast. but you can see a change in the winter weather alerts this morning from the national weather service. philadelphia still just barely in the advisory area where snowfall is going to be fairly light. the warning area from about trenton down to lakehurst and then up closer to north jersey and new york city is still looking at fairly significant s

somebody lit a baby on fire in the middle of a burlington county street. nbc 10's matt delucia is live at st. christopher's hospital in philadelphia where the child is receiving emergency treatment. matt what have you learned about the circumstances of this crime? >> reporter: rosemary the baby we're told is very young, possibly a newborn. and at this point it is still unclear whether or not this baby will survive. take a look this is what we found when we got to the scene, in pemberton township burlington county, simenton road near stockton's bridge road. police there tell us they got a call just before 11:00 last night, neighbors reported commotion out in the middle of the street. that's when officers found the baby who was lit on fire. that baby was flown to the hospital and, we're told was alive at the time. we're also told a woman about 22 years old was at the scene. she was taken to a nearby hospital as well. as of early this morning, investigators were still trying to figure out if she is the mother and if she was the one who lit the fire. but those

snow totals for northern burlington county, 15 to 20 inches expected.ld see amounts even higher than that. if you're closer to philadelphia proper delaware county 10 to 15 inches expected. and then closer to wilmington new castle county 6 to 10 inches. so again, the same thing is true. the further out west you go, our snowfall totals go down. a closer look at the poconos, the lehigh valley heading into our overnight hours. we're going to see more of a moderate and heavy snowfall for allentown pushing into most of lehigh valley. quakertown lighter snowfall expected for redding. as we head throughout the day, this is going to be a consistent 2 to 4 inches monday evening. monday night into tuesday, this is when the snow really starts to pile up. so by 6:00 a.m. on tuesday, we're still dealing with heavy rainfall coming down. that's going to push our snowfall totals 12 to 15 inches near quakertown. near pottstown, 8 to 12 inches. if you're just to the south of redding, closer to 5 to 8 inches. a lot of snow heading our way over the next 48 hours. we definit

that's exit number 40 here in mount laurel in burlington county. a busy area and now you've got a jackknifed tractor-trailer blocking at least the left lane at this point. this just coming in. in new jersey a camera on 42, that's northbound traffic at creek road. we're not seeing any big problems no big delay from turnersville or blackwood yet. we're looking pretty good. watch out for some slick spots but most of the traffic is moving fine right here. on the big picture matt and tam just talked about this problem a hazmat situation dara street between margaret and folcroft street. all the crews on the scene at this point at dara street so avoid that area. later tonight the sixers play at 7:00 so you'll see congestion in south philadelphia. although it's mostly dry we have been looking at some of the secondary roads and currently seeing some slick spots. i think you get the idea looking at this picture. 202 parkway at county line road. people moving okay just use caution. >> let's go to our breaking story. firefighters and police act like the heroes

it's not the case in ocean county and parts of burlington county where we've had heavier bands pushingin some cases we're already up to about six or 7-inches of snow and we're not done because the center of the storm system is still about here. we expect the snow to taper off late in the morning. there's the wide view on 3-d. boston portland connecticut getting hammered with blizzard conditions and there's still a blizzard warning in part of our area. it's been lifted up into long island and new york at this point. so we're looking at an advisory and then a warning. this is a new update with the warning shifted toward the east. drifting snow is still possible but it's not going to be nearly as much as what we were originally forecasting. until 7 o'clock bands of moderate snow will still be moving in especially areas east of philadelphia although the city will see a little bit of this. if 7 o'clock to 11 o'clock whatever snowily is out there tapers off and for the evening rush it doesn't look bad at thisy at this point as the snow will be long gone and the roads will be treated at this

we're here in burlington county right on 295 southbound where we have an overturned tanker truck.ion cam was on the scene and you can see how many emergency workers were here. it was hauling heating oil we're learning and all the southbound lanes have since reopened. this happened in the overnight hours. still causing lane restrictions just up to a few minutes ago. northbound the left shoulder is still blocked so we do have one shoulder blocked but at this point things are looking better after a nasty accident in burlington county, 295 southbound past route 73. we've got another issue out here the traffic lights are flashing. you see it right here and this is south street at the schuylkill so as you're coming off the ramps you got to treat it as a stop sign. here in chester county we've got a problem on the pennsylvania turnpike, a tractor-trailer accident is on the shoulder of the turnpike eastbound between downingtown and valley forge matt. >> thanks, karen. >>> developing this morning we're following a break in the case of a burlington county woman who has been missing since la

the snow squalls are now moving into south jersey, parts of camden county right now, into burlington can see just around route 130 right now crossing the new jersey turnpike. medford right now across route 70 we've got a pretty significant snowfall. they only last about five, 10 minutes. we have another one moving into manayunk right now towards frankford norristown you had a snow squall now tapering off to flurries and that line extends farther up to the north and the west. parts of berks county right now a little bit lighter in reading and pottstown montgomery county we have a snow squall just north of route 100. they will be dying out as we head through the evening hours. what's happening? we have cold air that's rushing in causing instability. the temperature in philadelphia 34 trees. millville 33. allentown 30 and reading 29 degrees. you factor in the winds, though, wind chills that right now are dropping down into the teens and 20's and the winds will be gusting up to 50 miles per hour tonight. at the same time temperatures will be plummeting so tomorrow morning a bit of a shoc

today we learned some of those horrifying frankly disturbing details of what burlington county police say happened to that unfan girl. she was no older than an hour or two old. the mother babi' twos-year-old mother today appearing in court for the first time to face murder charges. it may be hard to believe what police say 22-year-old hyphernkemberly dorvilier did to her newborn baby daughter. pemberton police say shortly after her baby was born she wrapped it inside a blanket doused it with flammable liquid and set the baby on fire. it happened along the shoulder of simon town road. >> today she made her first appearance in burlington county court wearing an orange jumpsuit telling the judge she understood the charges. according to an arrest affidavit, an eyewitness a neighbor dave joseph saw the young mother standing near the fire holding a can of wd40. she toll the man she was burning a pile of dog feces. but when she poured water on the fire a baby began crying from under the towels and papers which were on fire. the witness tackled doorville lower follow police got there. >> the
