they have the bus towed to this yard here in gilroy. but also they have a statement from the bus driver himself. there's also surveillance video from inside that bus. now we know there are passengers who claim they were awake at the time and that the bus driver seemed tired. the driver is there man, gary bonslater, a 58-year-old man who has been driving for greyhound for 26 years. he's from southern california, specifically the town of victorville. until now he had a clean driving record. that changed just before 7:00 yesterday morning as he crashed his greyhound bus into those crash barrels between the northbound highway 101 car pool lane and the connector to the highway 85 hov lane. there were 20 passengers on board. the bus started its journey in south earn california, in l.a., at 12:30 the night before. most told investigators they were asleep. a few did tell investigators that they thought the driver seemed drowsy. they say he got a cup of coffee in gilroy a few moments before. according to chp bonslater admitted to investigators t

falling as the bus flipped. there's also surveillance video. as we mentioned, federal regulators require drivers get at least eight hours of sleep before hitting the road. greyhound bus requires their drivers to sleep for nine hours before. we don't know how much sleep that driver got. we do know driver fatigue is a major factor in this investigation. in gilroy, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >>> crash survivors in the meantime are talking about their nightmare experience. 22-year-old christopher mcclellan was among the passengers returning to san jose and says he was awake ended with a jolt. >> a lot of screaming. honestly, it was five rolls that happened. there was a lot of chaos. i looked around in the moment when i was secure myself seeing just everything happen, everything happening, everything spinning. actually a barrel roll, jumped down to where your feet would be, made sure i was secure. >> he says he and other passengers helped survivors from the bus, even going back into the bus to gather some pass

then they still have to get this bus towed away. we have crews working to get answers from chp and greyhound. i just got off the phone with a spokeswoman who is from greyhound, and she tells me that they are doing their own internal investigation. i asked about these allegations about the driver falling asleep, and she said she did not have the answer to that. i asked her if this is the same driver who took off from la when they bus left the night before, and she said yes. their roles are that they are able to drive for a consecutive 10 hours before taking a mandated break. than the requirement is for the driver to get nine hours of rest. as far as the drive time, this was well within that 10 hours of consecutive driving. so a lot needs to be sorted out because we don't know what caused this driver to crash. a very tragic accident, and we will have more on this on later newscast. >> i am looking at that bus, how do crews plan to move it out? >> they said they will tow it somehow. we have not heard how. right now they are in talks wi
