hamrick they say our infrastructure is crumbling... it literally is i guess gpx it was at 11:51 when cal trans shutdown both directions of the richmond san rafael bridge. just about three hours later... one lane in each direction opens... while crews work to repair the unstable concrete but less than an hour later... more concrete comes crumbling down forcing another full closure of the bridge. sot bryan o'sullivan martinez we heard one lane is open so i tried to come here and get through and it's closed cal trans inspected the portion of the bridge where concrete... the size of a football fell onto the lower deck. the goal was to get the bridge open as soon as possible but safety came first. just after 8... all lanes of the bridge reopened again. sot vince jacala / caltrans spokesman the metal plates are a short term repair. so obviously, that we can open the bridge now so that we can have it ready for the morning commute and the late night commute. and then over the weekend, we are going to assess it some more so that we can figure out the long term plan for the fix. instead sitting in this
