i am sarah caldwell. we begin with breaking news out of westminster, where a small plane crash has happened. roy, what have you learned from the scene? >> you can see what the crash site looks like right now. we have a video to show you of what it looks like when we first got here. just after 10:00 this morning, a small airplane made a radio call stating that they had issues with the elevator system and was in the process of making an emergency landing at carroll county airport. since it did not have control with the elevator, it ended up crashing into the end of the runway and ended up sharing the wings off and the fuselage coming to settle some 20, 30, 40 yards past the wings. maryland state police responded to transport victims to shock trauma, but the helicopter ended up breaking down at the scene. they had a second trooper pick of the victim up and transport to shock trauma in critical condition. the airport remains closed because there is a ballistic parachute system that is on this aviation aircraf

i am sarah caldwell. the big story, the fate of former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky is in the hand of jurors at this hour. we have the latest on the deliberations. >> jurors continue to deliberate in the jerry sandusky trial. the first order of business was to listen to key testimony from two witnesses. he arrived at the courthouse before 9:00 a.m. eastern. the panel deliberated for about seven hours last night and asked to listen back to testimony from the only witness who testified he saw jerry sandusky engaged in a sexual act with a young boy. a family friend said he had confined to in him the night the incident allegedly happened. matt wasdusky's son prepared to testify, but prosecutors did not put him on the stand. when a verdict is reached, jerry sandusky and his attorney will have 20 minutes to assemble in the courthouse. >> it is another one of those days. yesterday, made it to 100 at the airport. look at now. we are already at 92. it is more humid today. 44%. 2983 is the bar

i am sarah caldwell. many people across maryland begin cleanup projects. the latest out of the severe weather brought powerful thunderstorms and even tornadoes. kim dacey has a look at how things stand today. >> this home in towson illustrates some of the damage we are seeing. the roof is gone because of a tree fell on it. harford county took the brunt of the hit from the tornadoes. county officials there estimated damage at more than $1 million. days after a tornado touched down in harford county, the path of destruction is still visible. downed trees, damaged homes, and caught the buildings, one of them an auto-detailing shop in fallston, collapsed on the honor. he was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. >> he has a rod and some pins in his leg. >> harford county government officials say it could have been worse. >> it was about a mile-and-a- half area that the tornado travelled, about a quarter of a mile wide. very fortunate that the number of residences in that area had not been hit harder. at that occurred, had the storm taken a different path
