and i think caleb's point is well taken. but i do want to give a little bit of context. this is not a riot but a massacre. this is important because president biden was stepping squarely into the middle of a debate, among many debates roiling around the commemoration of what happened. there has been an attempt to soften the language by referring to this as a riot as opposed to a massacre. you can dictate where people stand on the issues by the language they were using to describe what happened 100 years ago today. and so that's part of it. he's kind of settled that debate. in a bigger sense though, one of the things that disturbed me was conversations i had with people around tulsa, not all the people said this were white but people said well, you know, i'm not quite sure if things were as bad as they're saying they were. or -- did they really kill 300 people? that's a little hard to believe. and it is really not about what president biden said, but look at ugliness in the past, but we have to actually be willing to believe these things happen or else we leave ourselves
