tropical storm hilary is out of southern california. it won't be forgotten anytime soon, from downed power lines to flooding, mud slides, hilary left a trail of trouble behind. nbc bay area's ian cull joins us with a closer look at the damage done. you spoke with one woman who actually rode out the storm in her home. >> laura moved from the bay area to cathedral city near palm rings about five years ago, and she lives near the entrance to her neighborhood and was recording as flooded over the past 24 hours. palm springs is one of the places hardest hit by hilary. she found one man whose suv started floating. you see it there after he drove into the flood water. at se point, the fire department couldn't get through because the water was so deep. >> it was not pretty. it was bad. the rains started flooding quickly, about mid afternoon yesterday. i have friends who sent me pictures of downed trees, and the damage has kind of been all over the place. >> she said it, damage all over the place. they're obviously going to need some help. i und
