let's bring in callahan walsh. he's the son of john walsh, former host of "america's most wanted" and a fugitive series hunting. this is very much sadly right in your wheel house. this is the kind of story that you cover all the time. so tell me what you're hearing and what they have shared with us today, which is a lot of new information and how you add all this up at this point. >> well, right now what we're seeing is really what in the military is called a combined armed tactics. that's bringing in land, air and sea resources to search for him. they're bringing in bortac, the border patrol tactical unit. they were in the man hunt in pennsylvania. that write partly responsible for catching him. they were brought in as well. so while there's a lot of focus there at that boat launch, they're using every resource possible. sonar, radar, using drones, bringing in k-9s. of course, a lot of just man hours, searching through these heavily wooded areas. really leaving no stone unturned. >> martha: so it's interesting that

with that, we bring in callahan walsh. father is john walsh, former host of "america's most wanted". callahan, welcome back to "the story," this is a heart breaking story. your thoughts on this search for her and what could have happened? >> well, at this time, law enforcement is believing that she was abducted. they searched and searched that area over the night. at first she wasn't able to be elevated to an amber alert because nobody saw what happened to her. seems like she vanished in thin air. they found the bike but nobody saw her being abducted. so after searching that area, they were able to conclude. she hasn't been lost in the woods. this is a situation where somebody is likely grabbed her and taken her. so right now it's all about expanding that search zone and also getting this information out to the public, getting this image out to the public. the most important tool when it comes to the recovery of a missing child is the photo of the child. it's time for them to go back to that park and start interviewing the

earlier we spoke to callahan walsh for the national center for missing and exploited children.urse any amount of trauma that she endured, you know, is going to take time to heal. but, this family can hug their little girl again and it just so glad that she was able to be recovered and recovered alive. >> todd: authorities say this still is an active investigation as they were still questioning ross late last night. this has been an impressive search. about 400 people took part in the hunt for charlotte yesterday over a span of 46 miles. meantime charlotte elementary school says it will have extra counts lores available to talk with any of the class malts or staff. back to you. >> steve: you said the suspect wound up going to the hospital for a little while before taken into custody. i had read one report that apparently there was some resistance when the police tried to cart him off. do we know what happened? governor kathy hochul said that and it's unclear the nature of that resistance we will find out presumably later on today when a lot more pieces of the puzzle will come in

national center for missing and exploited children and co-host of in pursuit with john walsh, callahan walshley: thanks for coming on. >> we are so thrilled to be able to report. this everyone was praying for this child all across the country. tell us how they were able to track that note with the fingerprint. why was this fingerprint of this guy in the system back from 1999? >> yes. so about 4:20 in the morning, monday morning. he actually left a note in the mailbox. a ransom note for charlotte at the parents' home. the parents weren't there at the time. they were still at the camp site searching for charlotte. however, law enforcement was able to get their hands on that note and able to match fingerprints that they had in their system from 1990s dui that this individual had been charged with. that's how they were able to link this individual with the kidnapping and able to rescue charlotte alive as well. i mean, amazing, amazing news. >> ainsley: it is amazing. callahan, how did he know her address, did she tell him, do you think? >> we're not sure at this point. this is all unfolding in r

. >> jesse: let's bring in callahan walsh, the cohost of in pursuit.o you agree with that assessment? >> we are going to see this play out over the course of a i few hours. if law enforcement has that house surrounded, they're not going to rush in because that is the most dangerous part of the job is going through a doorway. we've seen way too many law enforcement officers who said their life in the line of duty knocking down a door so they're going to do everything they can to make sure that nobody on the law enforcement side is harmed. so it is likely that this is going to take some time. if they truly believe he's in there they're going to do everything they can do bring him out safely especially for the law enforcement officers that are there on scene. >> jesse: is this diverting snippety do they have enough manpower if you have everybody descending on this one property and you have a large area here, i mean, they're going to have to deploy pretty much every resource possible. does that put anything else at risk? >> you know, my understanding is th

joining us now is -- exploited children, son of john walsh, former son of "america's most wanted." callahan, i know your organization was involved in the search for charlotte. are you hearing anything about how she was found? >> we're hearing that she was found in good health, which is amazing. just the fact that she was found alive, you know, i try to put into words -- i say a grand slam at the world series, but it's better than that. honestly to get this news that she was found safe is amazing. i think there might be a misconception that missing kids aren't found alive. that's not true. any time we have a stranger abduction like this, a non-family member who's taken a child, when we get them back alive, even after 48 hours, it's the best thing in the world. >> john, do you know about the methods authorities were using here to try to find her? >> there was no method they were not using. so, they were exploiting all options, readers, video cameras, cell towers, looking for some connection. i'm told by sources that a note was dropped by the house today. >> a note? >> a note. something akin t
