major delays expected for caltrain.normally take caltrain to get into work this morning, just be prepared for those delays. and the redwood city station of caltrain has been shut down. they are not running any trains through there at this hour. bart is on time. no problems reported for the ferries or the altamont commuter express. it was "friday light" until 45 minutes ago at the bay bridge toll plaza. it's now backed up from beyond the 880 overcrossing with the metering lights on. the earlier accident we had inside the tunnel has been cleared. and over at the san mateo bridge, westbound traffic looks good with just a minor delay at midspan. the altamont pass is going to be a tough ride. westbound 580 has improved so it's no longer delayed from 205, just some slow traffic as you move out of livermore heading towards pleasanton. that's a look at "kcbs traffic." hears lawrence. >>> skies are clearing out now. we have some showers again overnight. looks like things really begin to settle down and looks like another dry fri

some people with one or two muni bus connections between caltrain, taking caltrain, then maybe having to find the bus or the shuttle to get from there to where they're working, that can quickly become a 2 to 3 hour commute each way and those people are not going to do that. they are going to get it in their cars and increase congestion on our streets, make our streets less safe. and increase congestions on our free ways. these shuttles are providing a valuable service for many residents of this city who depend on them to get to work every day and for this city in terms of reducing the number of cars on our roads. i know that there is a lot of frustration and anxiety in this city now around the cost of housing. and i share that frustration and anxiety. i work with constituents every day, people who are being evicted, people who are concerned that they will be evicted, people who are concerned about what their future holds in this city in terms of being able to afford to live here. we need to all recommit every day to addressing the structural housing problems and housing affordability
