caltrain chair are used to support san francisco's annual local capital match contribution to caltrans program. prop k for the system have been heavily advanced to provide san francisco's local match contribution because sfmta has been unable to contribute to its own financial challenges. a strategic planned amendment is needed in order to fully fund caltran's request, allowing advance of approximately 1.9 million in prop k from fiscal years 2004 to 205, to 20-13 and the guideways category. among other requests we received, the san francisco transportation agency has requested 136,000 in prep k for design and construction of crosswalk and guardrail, modifications at the intersection of the ohsanessey and dale dell. also requesting 35,727 to construct crosswalks and red visibility curbs at controlled pedestrian cross. finally department of public works has requested 20,000 for curb side and landscape improvements on 24th adjacent to 24th commission bart administration southwest plaza. southwest curb and landscaping are scope elements of the 24th street mission. bart improvements project and ful

program and where we are with it. based on a 2000 agreement with caltrans, the elevated under the city, the city was obligated to develop these properties and use the proceeds to pay for the construction of octavia boulevard, as well as several other purposes related to the new boulevard. before completion of market octavia plan the city sold a number of these parcels, mainly to redevelopment agency for affordable housing. of the seven parcels sold in early days to the redevelopment agency, four have already been developed and have received recognition for their innovative design. it is also worth noting when all is said and done and all parcels developed, about 50% of all residential units developed on the formal central parcel also be affordable units. while market octavia plan was developed, our office sponsored a design competition to stimulate ideas on excellence in design along the boulevard. once the plan was adopted and gave guidance on standards in the area the city went about disposing other remaining 11 parcels. four of these, including the one before you today, were the subject of an rfp issued in the year 2

program report. >> good afternoon, commissioners. in my have day-to-day i wanted to touch on two projects. the caltrans dam and the bae tunnel. the cow thecal res -- the cal res dam, we have completed 14 of the 16 additional borrowings that are required to further analyze these new geologic features that were discovered at the project site. the contractor has been very helpful in giving us sick access to those locations where the design engineers wanted us to drill new borings. but the analysis of the data that we are generating, as well as the design modifications that are needed to mitigate the potential slope and stability should be available by mid september. and then it will likely take a full two months to negotiate a change of this magnitude. only in late november or december will we know for sure the exact cost and schedule impact of that change. in the meantime, we are continuing on that contract work and making progress on a number of activities that are not on the critical path. obviously, we are very anxious to start excavation began on that slope of the abutment. and i'm working very closely with the design team
