calvin riley graduated from sarah high school and played baseball at san joaquin in modesto. moments earlier, a family spokesperson says riley and a friend saw strangers standing on a hill but police are not sure if that was the shooter. wilson walker picks up the story. >> we get like 4 million visitors a year, mostly tourists. >> reporter: on this warm up monday, aquatic park looked every bit a tourist hub, packed with people and no sign of what happened just before 10 pm saturday. >> we have car break-ins and that sort of thing but this is unusual. >> reporter: calvin riley, shot in the back as he and a friend walked the park playing pokimon go. a friend of the family says there was no confrontation, no words exchanged, no robbery and no apparent cause. >> the friend heard a gunshot and turned the corner and his friend was laying there. they noticed a meal with dark complexion running away with a redshirt on. possibly getting into a car. >> we really don't have security cameras in this part of the park. we hope someone has their own personal camera. >> reporter: the murder

it has been five days since calvin riley was shot and killed at san francisco's aquatic park., not many answers. police have made no arrests. we don't know a motive. there are no known witnesses and know description of the shooter. what we do know is riley and a friend noticed someone lurking at the top of a hill while they played pokemon go on their ph e phones. riley ran ahead and jogged past a building alone. his friend heard gunfire. there are no security cameras that face that spot, but investigators say cameras could still be the key to cracking this case. >> if any also had a photograph for video, maybe took a selfie in the area between 9:00 and 10:00 on saturday night, you might not realize there was something in there but there could be information there in useful to the investigation. >> i think it's possible to get these answers. >> reporter: rick smith, a former fbi agent says there's probably a lot happening police can't reveal. he says investigators need to reach out to more of riley's friends and find out who else he came into contact with and build a timeline.
