there is a deadly accident right here westbound 80 at carlson boulevard. this is just before both 580 and 80 merge just off of the richmond bridge before you get to the racetrack in your commute direction. all of this back-up extends back to richmond parkway. that's one of the ways can you get around, jump back on to 580 and take it around the scene. you should join up with traffic just after the accident scene. but again just a calculated risk you'll take because a lot of folks will head over to the richmond parkway as well. plan on big delays north of the accident scene. 3 out of 4 westbound lanes are blocked. this means trouble if you're coming south off of the carquinez bridge, westbound 80. your commute direction. out of hercules on highway 24, consider 680 which will take you down to 24. congestion heading through pittsburg and bay point funneling down through the walnut creek interchange but it will take you through the maze, and south of the back-up you see as you head into berkeley. we track that sigalert situation. meanwhile, metering lights shou
